So here are my thoughts, instead of letting Pandora recommend me I'd come on here and get a more personal feel.

Each person gets to name one band they like, then others recommend a few similar bands the person may like. The general idea is to suggest somewhat obscure bands so the same few don't keep coming up.

Then, you can return to the thread and search your band name for recommendations. If everyone quotes the band names the other person listed that'll really help!

MistaX: I love Portugal. The Man

MistaT: Oh, you like Portugal The Man, you'd probably like Phoenix...get Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and listen to 1901 or Love Like a Sunset.

a couple days ago, I only have hip-hop songs on my i-pod. But then I read threads like this one and now Im creating a playlist with all of the songs I like from these threads. Im going out West for a week and gonna do some POW skiing, and I am NOT listening to rap in the pow!! I like stuff by Eagles of Death Metal (songs like Miss Alissa, Dont speak, and I only want you, If I can imagine myself shreddin pow listenin to that song, Im puttin it on!) So, any suggestions?? I wanna get myself movin, so no slow , reggae, kind of stuff. Thanks!!
 
^^^ Iron Maiden, Apocalyptica (spelling?) maybe story of the year? Not really metal but the strokes, bloc party, some interpol and some neutral milk hotel songs are pretty fast or up beat-ish.

Just fixed my shuffle, thought it was gonna die on me the day before I go skiing. I guess moisture got in it, I opened it up, let it dry and put it back together.
