The Ocean is too damn scary

Looked pretty real to me, although instead of fights off id say it was more of pure terror followed by a lucky break.
 
Yeah, misleading video title for sure. He didn't do any fighting off at all but rather just some flailing and the shark chose not to make a meal out of him.

But I concur 100% with the thread title. The ocean terrifies me more than anything else. I am terrified of sharks and every time I get in the ocean I freak out because I hate just not being able to know what is around me and to not be able to defend myself at all. The ocean is scary, bro.

It's weird. The chances of getting fucked with by a shark are so small yet it's so scary. It's the fact that you can't see that shit coming. It'd be like having bears that live underground and can just grab you while you're hiking or something.

I wish I wasn't such an scared person. I still surf though but I get scared of the unknown.

Not true at all which I think you should know after your thread about consciousness.

I fear what I KNOW can come out of the dark fucking ocean and eat me. I wouldn't fear it any less if I could see it coming. It just makes it more intimidating since the ocean is so vast and I so far out of my element.

Yea its messed up when you can't see the bottom. Last summer in the hamptons a guy fishing on the beach reeled up a 3ft sand shark 50 yards from where people were swimming...and then just threw it back. I stayed out of the water since I have common sense.

Yea I guess that makes more sense. Now that I think about it I do not think that I am afraid of the unknown, but I'm afraid of what I know and understand. The unknown is what drags me back down to realize that fear is just a choice and nothing even matters. Maybe I want to die just to see what happens after death. Maybe I am dead already. Who knows.
