The "n word" and its usage on ns.

people seem so focused on JUST slavery. need i remind all of you that up until VERY recently blacks still weren't even close to equal to whites. they still arent now but they are less royally fucked over than say 30 or 40 years ago

Well personally , I think everybody needs to step the fuck off , grab a rediculous oversized mirror and take a fucking look around then look at yourself. Do you realize how much fucking rascism thier is both ways. I dont even know where to begin start end or what to even say. i hate saying it. and when i hear people singing songs that use it and they just repeat it that pisses me off. so recently i've begun just saying "ninja" instead

Ok I used to live in louisiana in a town that was 65 percent black. Or how about trying to be a non christian in the south?

Minorities do get a worse hand often times but that doesn't mean that white people don't know what discrimination is like either.

Most of the people on here that bitch about racism couldn't probably name a dozen black people they know. I know a ton of black people because my school is around 40 percent black. My God father is black. We crack on each other at school and stuff. But I do agree that we can articulate ourselves well enough to not use the n word, but we don't need to act like we have sand in our vaginas every time someone says it.

Its different for white people to say it than black people. Black people didnt enslave people in the USA. White people did. Therefore, in my opinion, just about anyone but white people can say it, (because just about every other race was enslaved somehow by white people). Just like if I, of irish heritage, were to say a slur of similarity to an irish buddy of mine. If some english, protestant person were to say it to me as a slur, I have all the right to kick their ass. Same if it was a Serb saying something derogatory to a Croat, or a nazi calling a jew, a "kike" or anything of the sort. Its all the same.
 
I don't know a black person who was ever a slave and I don't know a white person who ever owned one. A word is either ok for everyone to say or no one to say. None of this double standard shit.
 
I have come to the conclusion that in order to keep people from thinking that NS is a site full of stupid 13 year old boys we should not use the N word on this site. But this bullshit about how it's ok for blacks to say and not whites makes NS sound like it's full of 13 year old boys as well.
 
not to be a dick and this has nothing to do with the 'n' word, but the majority of africans were sold into slavery by other africans. once again not trying to take any of the blame away from the whites what they did was horrible but most of the time they didnt have to go adventuring into africa to find slaves
 
Look at my post after that one. I think that NS shouldn't use it mostly because it will lead some people to believe that the site condones racism, but not simply because were a bunch of middle to upperclass white kids.
 
I stated that I was going about a different view here.. in essence.. a change of subject, within the subject.

That said, from historical senses, if it werent for europeans, and americans, there wouldnt have been such a massive slave market from africa as there was.

Sure, slavery has always been around, and still is in certain parts of the world (especially asia and certain parts of Africa) and if you look at it from a much broader, and larger point of view.. the industrialized world is a slave to the earth as it is.

Anyways.. nobody may know a black man who was a slave, or a white man who owned them, but many people, including myself know somebody who was persecuted against whether they be black, irish, jewish, arabic, asian or whatever.. so as a token of repiration, that double standard situation has been set.
 
ive never actually been nto portland, but in hood river me and my dad were the only white people i saw hile we stopped at mcdonalds and got gas.

NS can decide what content it wants on its pages. If you want to say "nigger" there are plenty of forums that allow you to. NS would just like to keep a level of decency on it's pages. If someone came browsing the pages and saw hate speech on each page don't you think that he or she would think the site condones it? I am all for free speech, and not for this double standard bullshit but "nigger" isn't really a cute internet meme on newschoolers like those other examples you cited.
 
because clearly the other three are equally as offensive as the N word.

theres also laws agains hate crimes and i would qualify the N word as hate. same with the moron in the escalade thread that referred to the one car as a "SPIC car" again totally unacceptable. the word has horrific roots regardless of when slavery ended. not to mention the fact that for hundreds of years afterwards, and to a degree still today, african americans and all non-whites have been royally fucked over.
