its hard to say, different skiers like to ride to different things. I personally think its impossibly to say that one type of music is the official genra of skiing

Impossible to say. We all like different things and different genre. I think personaly that hip hop is very strong, but that's just a fad.

but I reckon that what's played at things like comps and on videos is probably mostly like rock/light metal with the odd DJ thrown in.

Depends on the erson, for me when i am in the back country i listen to something smooth like some R&B, or the shins, or wintersleep. Really melow stuff because in the bc it is about long smooth turns. But in the park it is all about metal, and punk. And in the pipe you need something with a good beat to help you with the timing of you hits.

i dont think there is any one type, it all depends on the skiers personal preference and they flow well to

it seems like underground rap but i prefer old punk like the ramones the cramps the damed and the clash i think that stuff is sick and i want to start seeing skiers in tight jeans like some snowboarders do

 
keep it heavy with the beat or keep a classic song that just makes you feel good. I have a playlist of ridiculous songs like that, they fit to me and make me flow

I think when it comes to backcountry stuf, more mellow rock is best. (Example: Dramimine by Modest Mouse in Seth's segment in Focused.) But when it comes to the park stuff, I would say punk and even ska. (Like The Explosion, Less than Jake, or The Clash.)

 
slipknot and slayer and stuff like that. ill admit i sometimes like some good rap, but not much, and mostyly for really steep stuff.
