The most intense/ballsy race on the planet.

Was looking through random motorcycle videos on youtube and I came across this. Thought it was to bad ass not to share.

Its called the Isle of Man TT. A road race that has been going for a hundred plus years. On average, three riders die every year, and over 200 have died since its inception. Talk about balls of steel. Enjoy!

I remember reading that 3 people die each year. This includes people watching. Since the course is so long people can literally sit on the curb as the bikes fly by 150+ mph. A crash can easily hurt people watching. Another fact is that the course is open to the public before the races begin and I'd assume inbetween races. Amateur riders can bring their bikes and charge the course. Many of whom probably shouldn't. I'd guess this adds to the death toll too. I'm a sports bike rider and I'd love to go see this race, but I'd be far too tempted to ride it way harder than what I should. Including all this, it's still the most dangerous, beautiful and most skilled race of any type that exists today

Damn, I can't believe they let your average joe go full boar on those roads. Apparently seven members of the public died on the course in 2012.

If you've ever been on a sports bike it's believable. That course has some longggg turns and straight aways that would allow so much speed. Even entry level zx6rs, gxr600, cbr600 ect are rockets

I have raced the course before its no big deal

Saw the title and thought" this better be the Isle of Man tt". Its fucking insane, when they race in the rain at 180mph its ridiculous

Just watched it, really good stuff. Thanks for the recommendation. Mark Millers analogy was awesome, "Its like when Han tells Chewie to hit the hyperspace button and everything goes whoosh."

The Aztecs were the most ballsy race.. The women used to tie string to the mans testicles during childbirth and she would yank the shit out of it during every contraction.... That's pretty ballsy

I was there last year. Rode my motorcycle out there from germany. it's fucking unbelievable the shit they do. Racers take this more serious than any other race in the world. One of the best times I ever had. That and racing on the nurburgring were the best experiences I ever had.

Also sorry for the dub post, but I knew exactly what you were talking about OP with just the thread title. And video does not do this race justice. Seeing it in person will completely blow your fucking mind.

That's fuckin sweet that you've been there man. I can't imagine what its like to see it in person. It is safe to say seeing the race is now very high on my bucket list.

A lad I knew died on the mountain a few years ago. He went on the public open day and binned it into a wall.

Yeah it's safe to say it's pretty fucking nuts, almost surprising it's still allowed given the extremely high mortality rate(didn't even realize it was so high)
