14007273:SuspiciousFish said:The OP's question is really too open ended to answer but for those of us who were around during those days, Salomon was a huge game changer. When the 1080s came out with their cool robot graphics and twin tips it was a huge shift for skiing, before twin tips skiing was seen as something square that our parents did and all the 'cool' kids went to snowboarding. I actually still have my Pocket Rockets in my basement. The younger crows takes freeskiing/newschool for granted and the culture that has been built but back then it was literally nothing then suddenly we had these badass twin tips to hit the park while wearing Burton jackets and Giro bad lieutenant helmets. That was when Rossignol got in the game soon after with the Scratch series and K2 came out with the Seth Pistols etc
As far as the original 'Core' brand, I am going to have to say 4FRNT. These guys were never super successful but they were really the first brand to be completely rider owned and controlled with very unique signature models. Its basically the format that Vishnu, On3P etc. have picked up today.
