The line that got away

there is this dog leg couloir at kootenay pass I've wanted to ski for the past 4 years. I can't even tell you how many times I've stood on top of the line but conditions didn't allow me to drop in. Always eating at my brain, never able to ski it.

One of those things. Hitting new zones, skiing new lines, but in the end, that line eats away at your subconscious.

23rd birthday, bluebird, kieths hut, 20cm of fresh. spent all day roaming around exploring the new zone to us. was eyeing up this money cliff in the middle ofn exposed area and knew i needed to drop it. hiked up a first time, test out the stability as the entry is a big roll over thatll suck you into a hell of a terrain trap and run to death below.

snow skied great, stable, looked at my buddies and hiked up for one more. ran is more like it. first "big line" id ever gotten into. got to the top, camera is rolling, dropped in and realized i have no idea how to find a cliff from above and had no reference what so ever.

skied right past the thing. still haunts me to this day. the birthday cliff.
