The Life of your skis

Did you know that you should only ride a pair of skis for 200 days. My cousin is a ski instructor and that is what all of the reps tell him. kinda got me thinking how many days overdue r my skis. prob 100, and thats not even taking into consideration that i ride all park with them.

my skis usually don't make it to 200 days. they break in like 80-150 days. normally closer to the 80 mark.

For a normal skier that's a ton. If you think about it your average skier probably only skis 30 days a year. That's so many seasons on a pair of skis. If you ski a lot, especially in the park, They get busted faster. 100 days max.

The people that are generally ski instructors... and the people that reps usually refer to are weekend warriors. 200 days is a shit ton.

ok this also means recreational skis, not park, pipe, rails like what we do. and 200 days is like a year and a half and a quater for me, but 4 for other ppl, 10 for others

mine lasted like 20 days until they delamed... not to worry though they are safely being held by duct tape and tie raps

my park skis last me maybe 50-60 days. thats about it. by then they are noodles, edges are destroyed, and bases are often as well.

pow skis last me considerably longer, since i ride them less, and they are abused less

60 days is about all I expect out of skis. My Pollards are way over that by now though. Burly sticks.

My Anthems are on about 100 days or so and I just am starting to lose edge on one of them. The top sheet is pretty fucked but it's just cosmetic. And I have a few chips in the bases but nothing too bad except the bases don't hold wax for shit but that is typical for most of Line's skis.

It varies wildly between skis. My Suspects didn't make it to 20, whereas my Anthems are on probably 40, and the edges and bases are still perfect.

im usually doing about 60 days on a pair. but i have a pair of lib techs that take a beating like no other and are still in great shape. prob have close to 90 days on them.

yep i figured about 60 days as well.

im pretty small and light so my park skis dont get destroyed as fast. got a buddy with 20 days on new sticks and they look like they are 3 yrs old, but hes 6'3" and 200lbs.

My friend tears apart skis like its his job. He should be the person to test durability for skis ha. But yeah i have actually heard that also.

im light and my skis usually last about 40-60 days before having no pop and no edges left. it all really depends on how often you wax and how hard you ride.

i use my skis till they are no longer skis. i don't give a shit about chips in the bsse, or the top sheet. my skis are overly abused and happy they have lasted aslong as they have.

same. i ski them until basically the edges rip out or they are ridiculously delammed. i'm on my second year on my anthems, riding only park with them skiing around 80 days a year

the figure 200 days of skiing isn't necessarily referring to how long the average ski holds up, but how long the camber in the typical ski lasts. Once your camber is shot (depending on the core) the ski is much less responsive and less pop.

haha I just got a new pair but the ones I've been riding most for the last year are completely fucked. at least 2 cracks in each edge, reverse camber etc

this is my 4th season on my rossi sprayer fs. besides no steel edges, its still good! sucks when the park is pure ice... old rossi=good qual

i am at abotu 80 days on my volkls and they are getting shot! no edge underfoot. both tails fucked. new skis soon

200?? all reps tell me 100.
thats the target life of a ski, then the core begins to break down, if it hasnt already.

Don't you mean a year and three quarters, cause what you just said makes you sound stupid.
I get new skis when they break.

I wish my skis lasted that long. Even if I didnt ski park at all (which is what I do 90% of the time) they STILL probably wouldnt last that long, because I'd be skiing in the trees a lot more and hitting rocks/stumps/dead babies a lot more.
