The Kink in Kinked rails

I can do flat rails for feet upon feet, longest i've cleared was a 80 footer, but i can't do kinked. I can do down rials too but i can't make the transition on a flat-down rail. I always slip out. And when i try down-flat, I hit the kink and barely make it to the snow.

I always make sure to try and change the angle of my body according to what the angle of the rail is, otherwise your balance gets thrown off. I'm not that great at rails, but I find that helps.

actually i can do longer kinked rails than straight, but...

you just need to really get ready for the kink

on a down to flat, right when you get there you gotta keep in mind to keep your front edge up (so you don't catch it on the kink) and let your weight back a little

on a flat to down, let your weight drop to make sure you don't get airborne and stay right with the rail

the key is staying glued to the rail throughout the slide

hope this helps

when going flat-down, try and crouch more than you normally would on just a straight this way, when you get to the kink, you can shoot your legs down with the rail with out dropping onto it

when i do kinks i don't even really look at the kink, i just keep looking at the end... it just feels like i'm doing on straight rail, it's hard for me to tell i'm even doing a kink.

The way I stayed on when I was first learning is by crouching a lot and when I got to the kink I sorta did something that looked like I was dropping into a pipe sideways. Kinda hard to explain, but I'd sart out by jumping onto the middle of down rails from strait above first because then you'll be more comfortable if you pop of a bit

Its winter, the birds have all flown south, all but one. One little bird that waited too long. As it flew to catch it's buddies it got icicles on its wings and fell to the ground. The bird then saw a nice looking branch at the top of a nearby tree and it said to a nearby cow, 'I want to reach that top branch but I don’t have then energy to fly up, can you help?' The cow said, 'Here, eat some of my poop it'll fuel you to climb up the tree.' The little bird said, 'Thanks!' and had some of the cow poop. The bird flew up to the first branch of the tree and rested, then the next day flew to the next branch, until finally the bird reached the top branch. Then the farmer came out with a shotgun...

The moral of the story is, bullshit may get you to the top, but it wont keep you there.

I suck at kinks after breaking my collarbone. I have a fear of gnarly rails now..I'm workin my way back up now though..

I've only done a few kinks, but have had good luck so far- Keep in the 'agressive' stance, like someone already mentioned, it lets your feet drop out from under you. I like to think of the stance as the way you would stand right before you jump into a swimming pool, but look down the rail.
