The King Of Skateboarding

rodney mullen is sick and he did invent the kickflip which advanced skating a ton but idk there are alot of skaters id rather watch skate then him just because im not really into that style of skating. he does have a creative style though.

why are there so many "rodney mullen is the best skater in the universe" and "rodney mullen is the king of skateboarding" threads? sure, he invented a lot of tricks that helped progress skateboarding, but there are lots of other skaters that are better than him right now, with tricks and style.

watch any Thrasher King of the Road video on videogoogle or youtube.

the skaters compete against other teams and they have to do listed tricks, unorthadoc events, and skate specific spots and do specific tricks according to this massive point book. which is how they get points to be judged against eachother.

then in the end you see who wins.

and Zero is in every single one of them, they won 3 years in a row

and theres a ton of tricks like backlip to backnoseblunt, 270 kickflip darkslide on boxes/ledges and shit, its got pros doing darkslides on handrails.

shits fucking rediculous.

but yeah rodeny mullen has invented many important important tricks in skateboarding, but he did not make skateboarding what it is today alone.

many many contributing pros did.

Fucking Patt Duffy was the first ever to do handrails and took it to the next level.
 
He's the king of physics.

Hes created so many tricks, nollie, hardflip, kick, heel, tre, shuv it, impossible, so many tricks its crazy
 
hmm i wonder whats harder to spin on...rollerblades where theyre strapped to your feet or a skateboard that you have to crouch and hold on to....fucking dumbass

yea you go bigger but i beg to differ better. skateboarding is not easy if you have ever tried. im sure on my first day of rollerblading i could atleast grind a flatbar. took me about 3-4 weeks of skateboarding before i could jump on a tinyass rail
 
that dude's incredible. i'd like to show this to all of the emo kids at school who try to board and completely suck. i hate them, they're always trying to be cool and ollie and such outside of school when i can do just as well as they do, and i don't even own a skateboard..and i can't ollie.
 
Mullen is the man. He can do so many tricks that I haven't seen many others do. He invented tricks that progresed the sport so much. I think he has some of the best balance I've ever seen.
 
yo rodney mullen is not amazing and I don't know why everyone on here is sploogin over him. Ya he's tech as fuck, but thats about it. As far as progression, his style is wack and he rarely skates real spots. I'd personally rather watch geoff rowley destroy huge sets and rails rather than see rodney mullen do manuals and flip tricks on the ground
