i Saw a short trailer on tv i think for it but that one was really good. Looks interesting. +k good find
 
To me it looks kinda dumb but whatever.

And is that Gamble from Swat, god I love that awful movie.

All I know is the younglings of NS will love it. It's got "Full Tilt" in the reviews (see 1:26)

Last, did anyone think it was going to be a movie making fun of the military? At the beginning part where they change the name of the base to make it sound better? I swear it was going to be a comedy.
 
Haha that would have been hilarious. I agree, it looks "action packed!", but not a good movie if you ask me, just another commentary of the current war.
 
a really good movie, best new movie in recent years in my opinion. Not a political statement just telling it how it is.

not it was not "epic"......^
it was fucking incredible, it wasnt a shot at the military or iraq at all. just a real (really fucking real) look at what goes on. the characters were great. it was really kind of hard to watch at some points.
just watch it. formulate your own opinions.
 
i don't know how "real" it is. I think they have robots to disarm bombs most of the time.

still looks like it deserves a watch.
 
robots can't disarm IED without setting them off (which isnt really disarming them) robots are used when it is sensible to just detonate the IED but sometimes it has to be disarmed by hand
 
How was it based on nothing. I knew they have robots to disarm bombs. I figured they were used more often then actual people going in and disarming them. Seems pretty logical to me. Other guy told me how they worked, I was wrong but hey good to know you don't know the meaning of nothing.

ive seen a little over an hour of it. Its ok. not great, but not horrible.

where are the days of old, with movies like "the guns of navarone" "the great escape" "the longest day" war movies have alot to live up to. its not the next black hawk down, or saving private ryan but its decent.
 
Sorry for making an assumption? Don't get your panties in a knot. My exact words were "I don't know how real it is", I pretty much told you I didn't do any research, just brought an idea to the table.
 
the movie was pretty good, i've watched it like 10 times now lol. The only gripe i have with it is it makes Iraq look more dangerous than it is in reality.

That being said, it brilliantly captures what it must feel like to be enlisted army going on "routine" missions.
 
Upon further review I just saw it came out on DVD. I saw it before it was ever released in the US, before any hype, and I can say the first time I watched it, I thought it was sooo good.

But I can see how hype might bring it down like hype did with paranormal activity.
 
yeah somehow my roommate has this on his PS3 and we watched this last night and it was pretty good, I would go see it, its not going to compare to saving private ryan or anything but it was a good one
