Sooo i want a rockered park ski. I want something in the middle when talking about flex. Something that is playful but still stomping landings good. I was figuring these skis where stiffer but i think the flex will allow for some more playfulness. However im not sure which ones are out next year? i might try and pick up this years since they'll be cheaper? idk i need some help here. (also contimplating the thalls even though they are not rockered) Preferbly armadas and rockered and no i have never ridden any of these.
165 lbsLive in the PNW (talking bout weather)this is my park ski only
shoot away!
thank jaaaah.

hey man when i rode the alpha 2s they felt still and not very lively compared to my old suspects.. but halos look soo dope

i meant the stiff flex and the rocker* would allow for more playfulness. Yeah halos look dope but theyll be mad pricey since they are 2011. Anyone ridden or have any opinions of whats the difference between the alpha 1 and 2?

dankz.

alpha 1- race base- more waxing but faster- less durable (if not waxed often), softer flexalpha 2- ar6 base, more durable but less fast- stiffer flex
and alpha 1 is more expensive, but only a few bucks.so if you wax your skis alot and are more of a kicker pipe skier id get alpha 1sif your more the rail guy and dont want to give a fuck about ur bases, then get alpha2s/halos

Also, the Alpha 1 is a bit lighter cause the core isn't a dense.
The Halo and the Alpha 2 is the same ski, so save the money and get either this years Alpha 1 or 2, as far as which to get, if you want a basically zero maintenance ski, get the Alpha 2, if you don't mind waxing your skis every few times you ski get the Alpha 1.

yeah il skip on blowing 600 bucks on those..

Soooo lemme get this straight because there is a lot of confusion
Alpha 1= less durable, softer flex
Alpha 2= stiffer, more durable
(dont really care about which one is faster) Doesnt make much of a difference for me.
Is that pretty much it? Kind of want a softer flex ski but i feel that the rocker will allow for more playfulness. Im coming off a really stiff ski and i want something a little more fun. Thats why the rockered skis are more appealing.
But this season i was more of a jump guy because i was getting down my corks and etc. But im looking towards next season to keep doing good on jumps but also more rails/boxes..didnt do enough with those as i really probably should have. I am also pissed off with quality from K2 and that they are made in china so thats why im taking a different way and picking Armada which are made in Austria. Because originally i was going to get the new k2 domains but my skis are so thrashed that i have lost a lot of respect for K2.

Alpha 1 is softer and waaaaaat more durable if you wax the base every few days so if you dont like waxing geth the alpha 2

have you actually flexed them?and if not, go watch the alpha 1 video on armadas website. in the product review they even say that the alpha 1 is softer.

soooo what i said here was that
alpha 1= softer flex less durable wax more alpha 2= stiffer more durable. less maintnence?
i dont usually mind waxing my skis but this year my skis didnt really need it much
But they couldnt be a huge difference in durability. and i want a playful ski but still good for the jumps soo im thinking alpha 1?

Dont you understand the alpha 1 base is a race base same one they yous on the pipe cleaner it is one of the most durable bases in the world IF WAXED.

You will have to wax it like every 2-3 days or the base will start to dry out and become more fragile.

Why would anyone listen to someone who spelled 'use' 'yous?' Haha, that's horrible. Jokes aside, you're right. I don't know about every two to three times, but at least every five days.

wow i really suck at spelling.

sorry i am from norway so i mix words a bunch.

Ya well i guess but if he rides park hard every day i would suggest he waxes them every 2-3 days.

nice, can u hook me up with a pair? if a pair is too much, just one will do too, Ill use it as a mono ski and once its smoked ill just take the lift down.

Your goal of how to look in 5 years?

And Colter, I replaced my Pipe Cleaners with Alphas 1s, and Alphas(1 and 2s) are fairly stiff w/o that much rocker(stiffer than PCs). Reno Rockers are MUCH more playful from not having stiff camber underfoot. I'd think rockered Blue Steeles might be somewhere in between Alphas and Rockers but Thomas would be the one to know if that's true..
