The golden compass

In my eyes, relifion is the biggest scam in the history of the world. Once again, it proves its power over its followers. To each thier own thouhg, if you find comfort in your faiths, so be it.

i saw the movie with my little sister and actually really like it. i want to have a polar bear to ride to class

The books and movie aren't that bad, but the author is outspoken. The statements he has said are basically religious hatred. I don't have a problem with athiests, I have friends who are athiest. But when you say things like "I want to kill God in the minds of children" I think that it goes past what's reasonable.

just saw the movie, it was alright, took some time to figure some things out since i never read the book

my girlfriend and i got high as shit yesterday and saw that it was sick. that bear is the shit dude.

But wait, there's more...

"For all of [the Church's] history...it's tried to suppress and control every natural impulse. And when it can't control them, it cuts them out."

"That's what the Church does, and every church is the same: control, destroy, obliterate every good feeling."

"the Christian religion…is a very powerful and convincing mistake, that's all."

If the first movie succeeds and the sequels are made, hopefully the characters remain true to Pullman's dialogue.

Could be that there is enough dislike for the books by some that it didnt get a good turnout.

But more likely it is due to the fact that the movie is pretty bad.
