What about sending out stuff to skiing related companies to try to help out? If the members banded together a ton of messages could be sent out or Harvey you could write one general message and forward it to numerous companies.

What about deleting the classifields? No one uses them and that might cut down costs?

No, it really wouldn't (at least I don't think so, I don't really know much) because it's just a glorified forum really, I don't think NS handles the transaction of money or anything like that. I'll check.

ya harvey, try to get the site sponsored hahaha... you know you could. its the biggest freeski site on the net and the best. the companies have almost definately heard of it, and im sure they're down for helpin out the community. i mean we are the people who buy their products, and we are the ones who support their companies. this site does basically what it says, it brings together the newschool community. you arent going to drive up to the hill and find thousands of newschool skiers sharing ideas and helping eachother... no no no. here.

The site already is sponsered, by Poor Boyz and High North. It's actually a lot harder than you might think to get sponsors. Not a lot of company's see the value in an online community as an advertising base. Also, those that do might not want to represent themselves with NS.com because of some of the stuff that gets posted on here, etc.

would it help to cut down the maximum video size to 1mb, or even something less then that. If people are just posting a single video clip, you can keep the file size alot smaller than 1mb, at least the people who know what they are doing.

I was just thinking. if you could get the server to make a new html page for the forum every time someone makes a new post then wouldn't that cut down on server processing and possibly bandwidth?

well are most ski companies not represented on the freeze website? look how much shit talk goes on ther... though there are still some pointless threads here, the stupidity and immaturity... ok well not the immaturity... but the number of completely useless threads has gone down a lot. i agree the content and ideas of the site should be enough to sway the companies. especially since we all go looking for advice and reviews oif different skis on here... personally i never would have heard of pe or tm... or even armada if not for the site... they dont sell them near here.

you know what i hear....? a ton of people with all types of solutions for reducing the size of newschoolers, thats not what we need, we need people to donate. harvey has spent so much time on the site and everything, stop sending suggestions, start sending cash. rich or poor, us or canadian, everyone can spare $5+ for the site.

It's going to be costing about $400/month just for the server (canadian dollars). So that's to completely break even with no profits at all, so with that, we still can't put on events and such that we want to do...

$10 is a perfect donation. I'll use this example again.. if everyone online right now (58 people) donated $10 through payapl, we could run the server for 2 months ($10 usd = about $15 canadian, times 58, equals about $870)...
