The Future of Furniture

thought that was gonna be really stupid, but it was actually sick.

I'd want to move into a house with all that stuff, and just gradually discover all of it on my own.

there is such a huge market for this kinda stuff now, mostly old people who have kids visiting though and money to burn, pricing would be absolutely horrendous though, im a cabinet installer for a reasonably large company and we do murphy beds and wallbeds and that kinda space saving stuff all the time now, and the most boring and simplest murphy bed is still gunna run you close to 3 grand. i can only imagine what all this is going to cost someone.

Pull down beds are nothing new, the tables that turned into bigger tables seemed totally pointless, if you had that extendible couch you would just always leave it extended, but the table that turns into a desk is actually really legit and I would totally buy it. Using a computer on a low table sucks.
 
I honestly don't think i would use all of that. Seems kinda use-less and it'd be to lazy to fold everything and stuff.
 
^For real though, with that one desk/couch/bed that could be my ONE piece of furniture and I could live comfortably in a 10 x 10 space.
 
whats with the straps on the murphy beds? do you have to strap your bed back together every time you put it away? seems like all your sheets and whatnot would fall down the back.

real cool though if you need it.
 
im sure all my shit would fall off the shelves though. i dont just put one flower vase on my desk i have tons of papers and shit that would go everywhere and make a mess
 
saw this the other day. super sick, but check out the site. they don't tell you prices, to find out you have to officially request a quote. doesn't seem like a good sign to me
 
really cool stuff. Only problem is that what about electronic wires or things on the desk taller than the space between the floor and bottom of the bed?

only problem would be dealing with comforters, sheets, pillows, etc when using it. And those moving shelves/desks are a problem waiting to happen, but other than that I wouldn't mind something like it in my room
 
most of the stuff isnt new and it poses a lot of problems. one is obviously cleaning. you double (at least) the surfaces and small little corners with such systems and idk how easy it is to clean that shit. also if there is a problem with a mechanism so the whole thing cannot be extended/folded. and, obviously, you would leave 95% of the furniture in the same position for most of the time unless you have a very small flat.

so, kinda cool stuff, but i am not sure how it would be in real life.
