I like rap music but music that is lyrically so garbage like a lot these new rappers doesn't deserved to be listed to and shouldn't be in edits. If the things they rap about are things that you actually value then idk what kind of life you're trying to live. I get the beats are fire and I smoke weed too big deal. Listen to music that elevates your mind. I do fuck w some east coast rap tho ie underachievers and joeybada$$. Sorry for the music rant.

what I mean is listen to music that adds value to your life. And joey badasss just recently came out w AABA and UA is about to come out w renaissance so they are actually still relevant.
 
I completely agree with this thread. Whats the point in listening to rap where you cant even understand half the words they're saying. For example this migos frestyle
is literally the same lines just re ordered. I understand why people listen to it because no matter how drunk somebody is, they can always yell "Momma told me not to sell work". IMO though auto tune should of died with T-Pains career. Also you cant deny the flow of real rappers such as Underachievers, Joey Badass, Zombies is untouchable and impressive.

Who fucking cares? You have rappers like Kendrick, Joey, J-Cole, Hopsin and many more who still spit traditional style raps. Then you have rappers like Migos, Future, etc who are creating new music which is fun to listen to. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. No one is forcing you to. Remember, there was a time when gansta rap was new on the scene and people were like what the fuck.

Listening to music you enjoy adds some value to your life whether is classic rock, edm, or whatever your taste in music is. Making dumb opinionated threads like this just make you seem like a douche. It's music, not everyone likes the same shit lmao
 
It does bother me that people claim that like migos or lil uzi are among the best rappers right now when they just strictly glorify drugs and mumble about meaningless bullshit. If you appreciate that more than Joey Bada$$ good for you but I think they get way too much credit. Realistically it is turn up music, not rap.

lmao arguing about what music is best is honestly the stupidest thing ever. it's like arguing about what the best color is. its 100% a personal preference. lil yachty could win every rap award for the next 10 years and im still not going to listen to him, personally i just dont fuck with the music. point is, its 100% subjective to personal opinion. cant call new mumble rappers "garbage" because regardless of their music they're finessing huge numbers to buy their shit. for all we know future might hate every song he drops but if hes making bank off it then he's gonna keep doing it, anyone with a brain would. some people wanna get hyped and pumped up, motivated, whatever it may be from harder beats and more energetic flows, some people like listening to music with more meaningful lyrics, like more relaxed beats, thats just the kind of shit they like. listen to the shit you like, when you got your headphones in the music is changing the way you feel only, doesnt matter what the latest charts say.

yea the lyrics are horrible. you can't tell whether the rapper is trying to be real or talk tough or just saying generic shit.

Slim shady will always be legendary for that exact reason because he doesn't take himself too seriously and totally changed the game. Trolled millions of people in the process as well.

Alternative/positive rap like Common Market, Atmosphere etc. also get respect for spin on it
 
You got new rappers like x who's music is ok but then u got lil pump who's flow doesn't go with the beat, new rap is just people tryna make a quick buck to buy drugs

I guess my big issue is when people say that some of these rappers are " the most influential hip-hop artists of a generation".

A lot of these new age mumble rappers have no real influence on the scene, besides having people talk about whether they're actually good or not. I would look at Jcole as someone who is more influential, i'm not saying his music is better because that shits subjective, but his music seems to have a greater influence, it seems more poignant.

Why the fuck is Hopsin included in the same category as Kendrick and Joey Bada$$? He's by far the cringiest rapper I've ever heard.
