The Friend vs Bent Chetler

Hey, getting new pow skis and debating between J Skis The Friend and the Atomic Bent Chetler. I want something playful and buttery, not sure which would be best. I have looked at a couple other options but really like these two. I'm super sold on J Skis, if they're similar to the BC in terms of flex/playfulness, then that's prob what I'll get. Thx

Thats not really even a question. Bentchetler all the way dude. there is not a better pow ski on the market right now.

I havent skied bent chets, but I want them so bad. But I guess I want a lot of skis really bad. But if it was me I would go Bent Chets in a heart beat.

Well, depends where you ski IMO, but I'm a fan of the BC in soft conditions. Would certainly take it over anything from J-ski's.

Atomics. I have some J's and they have major durability issues. Granted I'm riding the Allplays and not one of the powder ones but I wouldn't advise spending $600+ on them when there's way more proven skis in the industry

Why have you narrowed this down so much? Other skis in this category I would look at:

-K2 Shreditor 112

-Line Mordecai

-ON3P Kartel 106

-Revision Subtraction

and many, many more.

This, the Friends are a 114 waisted ski and the Bent Chets are a 122? idk if you want something that you can to all mtn/pow like the Kartel 106 Line SFB (108). Something for the deepish snow Friend, K2 Shreditor 112, Rory Silva Pro (114 i think), or Mordecai (114 i think) or something for those all out Pow days Bent Chets, Lab 001, Powabunga, etc.

You need to find a ski that matches what you are going to use it for. Also you need to find a ski with eh right profile, and flex, etc. So even though the Bent Chets are amazing skis (Idk about the Friends) narrow down what you want to find in a ski, then pick a ski based on review and personal preference.

You're all over the map there man. You're literally not comparing the ski's in your mentioned manufacturers lines that actually match up with the original OP's question.

IDK I think most of those are super compatible with the Friend....

Logic would dictate if the OP specified a 114 ski, and a 122 ski, you would try to put your suggestions between those 2.

Dude back off. Line mordecai (114mm), Shreditor (112mm), and revision subtraction (116mm, depends on size as well).

Those skis are very comparable. Maybe instead of Kartel 106, go Jeffrey 114, but other than that those were good suggestions. Also Cy has ridden all the skis he mentioned which is another point for him.

And the new bent chets are 120 underfoot, not 122...

Ok...?

Or I could look at those two skis, think to myself "I think he would be better off on a skinner, more versatile ski" and taylor suggestions to that, haha.

Thanks! And yeah, was tempted to say Jeff 114, could really go either way on that one...
