Team Norway:PKAndreas+ the rookie who wins the norwegian videoqualification (friflyt.no)
Team Sweden:Henrik HarlautOscar Scherlin+ the rookie winning the swedish videoqualification (freeride.se)
Team Europe:Elias AmbühlJacob Wester+ the rookie winning the videoqualification at downdays.eu
Jon is focusing being a host for the whole competition

none of them are from the same places though.

team norway is fucking stacked dont both pk and andreas have almost all 4 way doubles?

So fucked. Firstly, both Norway and Sweden are in Europe. Secondly, the people in Team 'Europe' are Scandinavian, and since there are already teams for Norway and Sweden, Team Europe should be made up of Western European riders.

Thirdly, I wanted Jacob to be left out, so he could have another shit fit on his blog

team norway is the same....

team sweden ... i dont really think scherlin deserves to be in joss

team europe elias ambuhl and jacob wester .... isnt that kind of a second team sweden/norway .... there are other countrie in europe ....

Yeah but this was based on the top two europeans in the city big airs Jon didnt invite. He had a whole points system

You ignorant twat, Elias Ambuhl is from Switzerland wich IS a western european country. Not so much a Scandinavian one. As for Jacob, he earned his spot fair and square by having good results during this fall bigairs comps...

So please go whine elswhere... Maybe in some 4th grade geography class; that would be a bright choice regarding your stupidity.

Team NS should be comprised of the kids from the "how to get to chad's gap from the bottom of alta" thread. It's only right.

its going to be sick, but i must say ima little dissapointed that there are only three teams, it might as well just be like the european championships or something.

Ahahahaha. I apologise for not knowing where Elias Ambuhl is from. You must live a pretty shitty life if someone getting a skier's nationality wrong on an internet forum is what makes you mad.

And Jacob Wester is SWEDISH and hence should be in Team SWEDEN.

Team Europe should be made up of the best continental riders, not the rejects from the other teams. If the organisers want to give Jacob a place, they should kick someone out of Team Sweden

I don't think he mean the same double all 4 ways. I think he meant A double of some sort, all 4 ways.

like forward left dub cork 10, forward right kang flip, switch left dub 10, and switch right dub 9.

4 ways, 4 different doubles.

c'mon.

from jons blog: First. The part about picking Teams for JOSS is the worst thing about organizing this event, its not fun at all, but I try my best to make everyone happy!

Teams

I saw that there was a bit of confusion as a few people thought that these three teams previously announced where the only teams at JOSS- Not True!

This is the complete list of teams at JOSS 2010.

1. Sweden

2. Norway

3. Europe

4. USA

5. Newschoolers

6. Canada

7. Down Under

8. Japan

Riders from each country will be announced as soon as the invited riders has confirmed.

Other countries

There was a lot of comments saying that a few nations where being favored and others not getting any skiers at all. When you have to limit the amount of people you invite this will always be a problem. I tried my best to give everyone a chance with the “qual system” to Team Europe, if they where that good, then they had the chance to qualify.

Jacob

So why is Jacob not in team Swenden?

Basically because the Jacob that was with me at JOSS last year didn’t seem to like skiing and not appreciate the event, he complained about most features and did not try very hard. I though that Sweden was better represented by someone who wanted to be at JOSS.

But luckily I think we have all seen that Jacob has this fall come back to the old Jacob that skis hard, tries new tricks and gives the events his best.

Earning him a well deserved spot in Team Europe.

I am very happy to see Jacob back in that mind set as he is one of the most talented skiers out there, if he keeps this up, him and Elias will be a dangerous team!

Oscar

Since I check all comments I saw that a few people thought that there was other skiers better suited for the other Swedish spot. But I guess these people did not see Oscars performance at JOI last year, his switch 12 Double mute was one of the best trick of all year last year in my opinion. This landed him the 3rd place at the event which is far above what any other Swede has so far achieved.

I agree that it’s pretty far in between the times that Oscars kills it, but when he does ski good, its very good.

Think that was about it, hope you see where I am coming from!

JON

hahaha team japan...what a smart move, gona be fun to watch!

Ahah so stoked to see the Japanese kid , i'll be rooting for them for sure !

But it really means one thing for you americans: There will be ONLY ONE team from the US and not 2 as the previous year. No more Team USA + America, only one.

But I guess you'll be able to change that by choosing 2 americans for the Newschoolers team.

I'll be glad if team USA is Tom Wallisch and Sammy Carlsson. Or Colby west... Bahhh tuff choice, there are so many riders for just 2 spots.

Watching Oscar @ JOI last year, the kid went nuts on the biggest and scariest jump on the rainiest shittiest day. Definitely a worthy competitor plus a hometown / crowd favorite.

Also I'm pretty sure last years event Jon went about 3 weeks without sleeping and the stress of organizing AND competing AND partying probably took a few years off the guys life, so he's probably stoked to just be hosting this year.

Really interested to play kendama with team japan. Hopefully tom makes it back for USA. What an epic event

B-dog and tj would make a great team. Both of them have a great style so i'm sure their edit would be sick!
