I'm bored, post some interesting and random facts, i'll start

Did you know.... Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin's lead singer) makes a reference to Mordor, a place in the Lord of the Rings series, in a song.

Did you know... Mac Miller was raised Jewish.

Did you know... There is a forest in Japan where people go, just to kill themselves.

1-Pretty sure that's common knowledge to anyone who listens to classic rock.

2-Didn't know that, but I barely know who Mac Miller is.

3-Vice did a mini documentary on that forest a few years ago, would've been cool if you linked to it, or had pictures or something.

Did you know: Based on current estimates, there are between 200 - 400 billion stars in our galaxy, The Milky Way.

Did you know: The newest estimates gained by the Hubble space telescope places an estimate of 100-500 billion Galaxies (in the visible universe) containing on average 300 billion stars for each galaxy.

So taking a conservative number of 100 billion stars per galaxy gives an approximate total of 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars. (Which is 10 sextillion)

Now, Did you know: That on average, the stars we observe and look for planets nearest to us have an average of 5 planets per solar system. In our solar system there are 166 and counting moons for the 8 planets we have, making about an average 20 moons per one planet.

If there are on average 5 planets per star in the solar system this means 50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (50 sextillion) planets with some 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 moons.

^ Just my favorite thing about my existence is the fact that there are so many god damn possibilities for terrestrial planets, and moons.

yessir forgot that for sure, and there are other uncertainties, but what i said is all pretty nice valid assumptions and averages.

Yup its a calculus proof. I can post a picture of my work on it later but you take the graph of 1/x and revolve it around the x-axis and the volume is a finite number but the surface area is infinite!

i thought the way stars are formed almost guarantees some sort of planet or celestial entity is formed in the process
 
planets gravitational force is directly corollary to the planet's mass and radius so.....yeah....not all planets have moons but there is a threshold mass for which you can solve for.......

Yup. Super cool stuff. I believe its named after the Angel Gabriel from the bible as the shape is synonymous with the shape of horns you see depicted with angels.

Another cool math equation is one that uses the 5 most important numbers in math all in one equation:

e^(i*pi)+1=0
 
Its been a while since I've done the problem but it has to do with the basic e^n alternating series and the pattern for the signs goes -, -, +, +, -, -, +, +, -, - etc so multiplying by i will get rid of the alternating part and adding the one will get rid of the first term which would be -1. Eventually it all comes out to 0 in the end.
 
yeah buddy!!

Calc II was my favorite class in college...Euler's method, and all the memorization of improper integrals. That guy with username "Chicken" needs to get in here and but us all in place math/science.
