The deeper the better?

Being a powder conisuer I've sampled every flavor and density and depth known to man. Deep days are a fucking blast, but sometimes the best days on the hill are when its only a few inches and super smooth underneath (pro-snow) and ultra rippable. don't get me wrong I like really deep snow but you need such a steep slope for it to be fast and fun. Everyone seems to obsess over depth and I think I obsess about quality.

yeah no doubt, unless you live in michigan or vail, the deeper the better. you wont be sayin shit about quality when youre skiing in snow up to your tits.

i love getting variation in one day... you're right though it's all about snow quality. you guys have it so much better than europe though, it's like comparing elephant snot to champagne. - (most of the time)

haha i like the pow up to the ski boots cause thats pretty much all we got this year but i kno what you mean really deep heavy stuff needs the right mountain to be fun

i really like deep fluff, but if its heavy its gotta be like thigh deep or under, fluff has to be much deeper cuz you just punch right through it

i havent had many run-ins with powder, but i like fairly light pow that is like 12" deep, maybe more, i just like the feeling of a little heavier powder and the way it reacts with your skis compared to ultra light pow, but ive never skier super light pow, the best pow ive skied was at loveland this last weekend.

anywhere from knee-deep to mid-thigh is fine with me but i also like the days when we have packed powder with some fluff on top

ya definatly quality. like knee deep super light is the best. if its heavy and super deep it just gets tireing cuz u have to work so much to turn

I live on the east, and have skied pure ice sheets to chest deep powder. And i have come to the conclusion that 2 inches above your knees is the best powder.

deep and fluffy, usually found inland... champayne for some, hero snow for others... whatever you want to call it - DEEP AND FLUFFY.

and for all those who say the deep isn't good 'cause you get slow on the flats - why the hell are you skiing on the flats? get up there and ski the steepest shit you can find!!!

I love powder.

but really, anything is good as long as it's soft... I hate hard landings for cliff drops.

Oh, and my girlfriend says to go fuck yourself - drouning is good. (bring your snorkle motha' fucka'!)

the thing is density and slope....in new york if we got 3 feet you couldnt ski it. nothing is steep enough for how wet it would be....now 3 feet of utah snow in new york would be more skiable
