The Debate

So I have to confess the I do really crave Full Tilt Boots. I want Hot Doggers and Booters and Seth Pro's I do so badly. I was just looking at the Full Tilt Official thread, there were lots for sale but I also noticed something. Some people were looking for other boots (not FT's). They wanted to trade for SPK's or some other boot. Don't get me wrong here it was rare but it did happen. Well I guess I kind of want to know how good are FT's? I have heard everything, from I would rather wear these than real shoes too I hate these so much I want to burn them. Now I have very uncomfortable boots, I have Rossignals, no disrespect towards them I just got a boot that didn't suit me very well. I got them cheap though so I don't feel that bad about it, but as I was talking to one of my good friends he said "Just go on NS and get some Full Tilts". I looked, high and low and I found some good ones but I'm nervous, what if my foot doesn't fit right with them. I even went to my local ski shop and tried on some FT's. They felt great. But maybe it is some kind of right of passage I want to take where I buy brand new FT's and then put them on. I think it might be weird knowing that someone else landed tricks in the boots I was wearing. But of course I'm not objecting to the idea. I messaged a couple people but nobody really has small feet like I do (25.5 Personal Message me about any boots for sale/trade) But really lets get to the bottom of this. People love this boot and few don't like it. I ski a lot and spend a lot of time in my ski boots. I have a backyard #sketchyaf set up and every once in a while hit a small urban jump with some friends but I ski almost 30 days a year. But is it worth it for me to buy FT's I looked on ebay which seems to be a little safer than buying on NS but of course its what every you feel like. Both have offers in my size and I have wanted to buy a pair so bad. It's not about the money and its not about the days I would get in them. Its that looming question: What if its not the boot for me? So I think NS took out blogs which is annoying because I really liked blogging but feel free to answer this or not. I just think it would be interesting to hear other people views about the boots or even just about freestyle boots in general. Thanks yalll

hello ethan.

ifyoureallylikeicanwritethewholefiveparagraphslikethisbutitgetsprettydifficulttoreadsomaybeiwillleavethatouttoday.hereismyadvice:

check out all the boots which your local bootfitter(s) offer you, ask them for advice, go to the shop with several hours of free time and do not leave until you have had every question answered. their job is to help you find the right fit, so don't feel embarrassed or that you're wasting their time.

you already seem to know that buying a boot just because it looks good is stupid. sure, full tilts have had a lot of hype on ns, but most boot complaints are in fact made by people who decided to purchase boots which they had not tried on.

you should try to get a few pairs to test out, most shops will let you borrow them for one ski day for no charge at all. this will help you find out if they really fit you, because some problems only arise when you're doing ski movements, although they seemed fine in the shop. so be prepared to spend some time if you want to find the right fit.

if you can find a full tilt boot which fits you and you have tested it, then go ahead and order it online, but remember, you probably won't be able to send it back so easily, and if someone else has skied in it, then it will probably be formed to the shape of their foot.

also note that boots change slightly in their feeling after you have worn them in, which could take several ski days.

Thanks for the advice.... I forgot to say that by kind of venting out my boots problems here I was mainly just trying to start some discussion about boots. But i needed some advice too. Thanks

I tried, really, but the wall of text defeated me... twice. I almost got halfway through the second time.

^A for effort.....its not too interesting.....the short story. Whats your view on boots and do you have any good boot stories?

Ethan, there is an 11 page thread stickied to the top of this forum dealing with exactly what you are asking about. People tend to put their stories, questions, comments, etc. in there
