Hope this already hasn't been started. The season just started here in CO and oops... (I actually have an incision on the top side as well.)

Who else?

I'm on so much Oxycodone, Benadryle, etc, etc I don't even know what's right anymore. So yeah. I could have chosen differnet wording.

Nasty... I had an ankle injury that took me out basically from mid june til october. there was a solid 2 months where i couldn't skate but luckily i'm healthy for season. Get better man

Probably got some bruised ribs from trying to flatspin a 5 foot jump. At least they aren't broken so the pain shouldn't last much longer.

Nah man. Not too bad actually... Plenty of pain killers, weed, and sleeping pills. The big incision actually itches more than anything. It's been in the single digits and it's still pre-season. Better than mid-season.

Only thing I'm bummed about is all the school I'm missing. It's gonna be a bitch to catch back up this semester.

yeah funny thing about hitting my funny bone... damaged the ulnar nerve. they relocated it but i still have no feeling in my elbow to the touch. So I'll probably never have to worry about hitting it again.... so I guess that's.... a bonus? ha....

Fell on a rail hard enough for my bones to pop through the top of my skin near my elbow and destroyed my elbow. Didn't know it was possible. It's an interesting experience.

Pre Season Rail JamLuckily I live in Ohio so the season doesn't actually start for another month anyways.

This is the night of 11/4

Healing up nicely!

That sucks op whats the damage and whats it setting you back for the future. Time/more surgeries?

I shatter my collarbone last new years day, was a little later than you but the season started dumb late that year. I think it was official day like 7 or something of riding?

At least on the plus if it's something that will be healed up in a few months without needing another surgery, you can probably get out and rage the mid to end of season.

Not sure how bad it is though.

What were you trying? Any vids of the crash that cut you down in your prime?

Damn that sucks. I broke my collarbone last year too... It was that bad at all though and I was riding within a few weeks.

I'm two surgeries in... Hopefully the last, at least for a while. I can actually start skiing in a few weeks with a mega elbow brace/guard (but lets be honest, it's not gonna be real skiing... haha).

Besides all the broken bones the main part was having severe damage to my ulnar and radial nerve. I'm definitely going to have loss of function... permanent or not I don't know. Kind of bummed but it's my left hand and I'm a righty so could be worse. Staying positive for sure.

To be honest I don't even know what I was trying... I don't remember much. I think that's where the shock sets in. I definitely remember my bones going through my skin and feeling my elbow shatter apart though.

Hey one of my good friends has kind of done the same thing; loss of function and everything, but that was about 3 years ago and she's good as new now and back doing comps, I can give you her info if you need any advice about the whole thing

really? interesting. didn't know it was that common. it was pretty crazy when it first happend... i literally lost feeling in my lower arm completely. surgery made a huge difference but it's still not the same... a long way to go.

it's crazy cuz most people don't know/think that only one limb can be paralyzed.

Damn dude, how many are you looking at. I luckily just had 2 and I was good. Missed the whole season other than last day but whatever. Lost some function but I'd say I got most of it back. Hasn't been a year yet so I'm sure it'll keep getting better. Luckily I don't need to throw a baseball again.

Any idea how severe it is or something you won't know until PT?

As far as getting back out there that's weird. Trying not to land on something that you know probably can't support the fall. Makes everything a little awkward.

"To be honest I don't even know what I was trying... I don't remember much. I think that's where the shock sets in. I definitely remember my bones going through my skin and feeling my elbow shatter apart though."

That's gnarly. I've never had anything actually puncture the skin. Push out from under yes, but puncture, that's fucking wild.

Hang in there man. Hopefully everything will go alright and with some good PT workouts you can get back out for the bluebirds spring laps.

That makes my dendex injury on my elbow from a comp rail jam look like a scratch. You may be asking wtf a rail jam on dendix??? Welcome to the uk where we go hard on the dryslopes. I fell off a box doing a 1 on truck grab and landed with my elbow in one of the rings and got a sizable gash right on the corner. Rode on, qualified for finals and just as i was about to start i noticed my arm was wet & sticky, turns out it was pissing blood. Got it wrapped up and rode on, so not a serious injury at all. It was just weird as i couldnt see where i had hurt myself.

vibes, i shattered my elbow bmx'ing back in the day...it didnt pop through the skin though..thats gnar...

After its heeled your gonna have to crack it every morning when you wake up...

Cheers to future arthritis

ooooowwww

jesus that looks gnarly. I got skier's thumb on the first rail i hit this year and thought that was bad.....

No it's the actual incision that itches... even when I don't take oxy it itches. It's from healing. But yeah I take mad benadryl when I do take the oxy otherwise my whole body itches.

itching from large wounds is horrible

i tore my upper shin open down to the bone and my scar was like 5" long and it itched and scabbed so bad when it was healing

Reminds me of bmx.Shorts and those fucking pins in the pedals. At one point took the middle pins out and it made a big difference. Gutted by shins half as frequently.

There was a giant scab down my shin most of the time in the summer. Somtime would do the same thing and tear the old scab off with it, then boom, new scab.

fucking itchy bullshit.
