Im 5'7 120lbs and the skis that are having this problem are my line afterbangs, 155s, with Marker M11.0 TC Free Bindings. I live in the East Coast so the landings are real thin and icy... The 1st time it happened, i was doing a 35ft 180 , stomped it and the break flew off.... I got it fixed and then it happened on another ski when i tried a 540.... got that fixed, thinking it was just the stock breaks that were broke , but then today i did another 540 and it happened again, etc.. In the beginning of the day, my binding setting was at ~5.5...now its at ~7.5-8....What should I do? I wish I had pics because ive never seen it happen that many times with the breaks totally bent and ripped apart, yet they were brand new? thx for all help

My best advice to you would be to NOT USE MARKER bindings.

Its common that sometimes on switch landings, your heel pulls up slightly, causing brakes to drag and catch. All you can really do is bend them so this doesn't happen, and maybe make a point of looking up the hill more so you are more centered on the landing.

But like i said...Marker bindings suck from my experience.

Not all Marker bindings suck. The royal family series (Duke, Jester, Baron, Griffon) are better.
Actually the Jester bindings seem to be pretty much the favorite binding right now along with Rossignol FKS / Look Pivot. I, too, have Jesters and they've been good. I bent the brake on a backwards fall but it would have been enough to rip the whole brake out of some other bindings.

Marker do make good bindings. They probably just aren't adjusted right. Make sure you check the forward pressure and the din setting. Breaks usually break when you blow out of the binding so that's probably you best bet.

Running too high din isn't going to change the fact that you have shitty bindings. Instead it could ruin your knees. Don't do it.

"Look PX 12 Ti Jib Wide Ski Binding"... talked to a guy and he recommended these for park specific bindings for a good price?

Here's a list of bindings I found that fit my price range:

Marker Griffon 12 Ski Bindings (90mm brakes) 2010

Rossignol Freeski2 120 XL Ski Bindings (100 mm) 2010

Rossignol Freeski2 140 L Ski Bindings (90 mm) 2010

Look PX 12 Jib Ti Wide Ski Bindings (100mm Brake) 2010

any of these?

i have griffons and had the same problems a few times. i stomp my fives now, but i would go with either the second or last pairs.

go with the look or dynastar 12 din or 14 din PX 12/14. they are the best bindings for landing switch and have the best hold in my opinion. The only downside is that they are a little heavy.

If you are putting wide brakes on skis that dont need wide brakes they are more likely to catch. Try to get the narrowest possible brake for your ski

i keep double posting, but anyway i talked to someone and he said he knows a couple ppl that have the brake problem with marker bindings that keep popping off, and said that i should go with the Rossy freeski 120XL 90mm Bindings for the park, and since thery are only 165$, ill prob end up gettin those instead of the others.. will wait for tomorrow to see any imput on here

Rossignol=look except different colors. Also, to people who've said marker sucks, the m series will blow up on your feet but the royal and higher din comp series are awesome. I have a pair of comp1400s and I like them better than my mojo15s and p12s (not fks, pivot) They are super solid and I only release when I need to

I had those bindings my first year. they're notorious for exactly what's been happening to you. Just get new bindings, those suck. Griffons ftw.

had the same thing happen to me broke the break 4 times over a month with my rossi 140's and i finally just got a refund for them and got marker griffons and they havent broken yet so i would not suggest getting the px series or rossi i think stick with marker get a diffrent one though

Do NOT get px12s they are the biggest pieces of shit ever. Invest in some griffons or pivots and there is no way you will regret it, or you could get the cheap ass px12s whom will break every lap.

there's your problem

i've watched 7 pairs of marker breaks snap off before the starting gate at races in the last 2 seasons causing kids to be unable to take their run

Don't get px12's...if you're talking about the FKS or the griffons I think the FKS are a better choice but more expensive except the turn table could save your knee. If you don't have the money, the griffons are way good too. I have both and love them both, either way you won't regret it.

my friend was snapping px12 brakes at 4 or so pairs a season.. i broke a couple of pairs myself.. my jester brakes have yet to cause me a problem.. griffons have the same brakes as the jesters but that plastic heel column has a tendency to snap...

all bindings have problems to be honest...
