For those who haven't seen In Deep... it was unreal watching this segment on the big screen, pretty emotional stuff too. McConkey was the man.

damn i remember opening my first freeskier right when i started skiing and saw saucer boy on the cover im really gonna miss shane, trends in this sport will come and go but his perspective on this sport is what its all about RIP Shane wish I could have known you
 
i was at the place he died this winter,i never even tought you could ski there.probably the best skier ever

Shane was such an amazing dude. Totally an inspiration to get out there and live life to the fullest, an enjoy every second of it. RIP Shane, you are a hero, and my thoughts and prayers go out to your lovely wife and daughter, who Im sure have been affected the most by this tragedy.
 
Shane had the stunt of the month in almost every issue of Freeze. No skier will ever have a bigger influence in my life me than Shane.
 
the first ski movie i ever bought matchsticks high society back in 2001. i remember watching saucer boy thinking damn i want to be that cool. shane is the reason why i bought snowblades. such an icon

that was so sad yet all i wanted to do was just keep watching. he was my first real hero, the first real pro that i knew by name and could remember every trick from his segment. shane was, is and always will be my hero. R.I.P. Shane shred the fluff in clouds.

I dont think there is a skier alive that loves this sport who doesn't start that seg with a tear and end it with a fist pump. I love that all skiers can agree on one thing, that Shane Rocks! Not many people can bring an entire group of people together like he has. He needs a Nobel Peace Prize!

watched this the other night and had tears in my eyes the whole time. Shane was and always will be an inspiration to every skier in the world, and he will never be forgotten. RIP Shane, we miss you
