The Bad Plus..... new jazz

I read an article in Newsweek entitled 'The Keys to the Future' about pianists and bands who are revolutionizing jazz yet again... they mentioned a band called the Bad Plus out of New York, so I downloaded some of their stuff... and right now I am listening to the freshest, awesomest cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit ever. This is seriously some awesome jazz, and if you're a jazz fan you definitely should check it out. Other mentions in the article were Matthew Shipp, Brad Mehldau, and Jason Moran... and I recomment Medeski, Martin and Wood as well.

good call on bad plus, also.. you're the first person i've ever known to have heard of martin, medeski & wood. check out the album 'a go go', by john scofield. MM&W are the session players on it..

Some great stuff. Also, check out 'Lively Up Yourself' by MM&W (A great suggestion I got from Duncan). Now I got a few more CDs to burn to add to my Jazz collection. Thanks Kami!

Charlie hunter is also some sick jazz, i like his album cover of natty dread. The other day i was listening to a jazz program on a college station, and i heard a nirvana cover on it, it was sooo good, hopefully this is the same band.
