did i miss something?

If you spill any part of your drink, you then are forced by law to consume the equivalent of one full drink from your shoe (or whatever footwear you currently have).

Everyone around you is responsible for watching for spills, and if one happens then the holy chant of 'shoe' shall commence, until the sacrifice has been paid.

Yes this divine rule was passed down to man a many centuries ago and is still part of Canadian and especially Quebecois common law.

But what if you bought the beer/whisky? Are you then required to drink for said shoe?

Or if you're by yourself?

If I had to drink from a shoe everytime I spilled on myself then I'd only taste feet. Every white shirt I own is stained red and brown from cherry soda and cola.
