To blow up the King and Parli'ment.

ah yes, a holiday celebrated mostly by people who have absolutely no idea what it's celebrating, nor what the original intent was.

I'd love to know where the idea of guy fawkes acting alone to overthrow the king and let anarchy rule comes from.

He was part of a catholic group (he just happened to be the one caught) who wanted to blow up parliament and kill the protestant king.......so they could replace the protestant govt with.....a catholic govt, which most likely would have been even more oppressive.
