The 2009 Edelweiss Thread

Yea man youll have a good time, edelweiss is essentially where i learned the majority of my first tricks. Youll have fun for sure.

Now i have a question, how are things looking after the shitty weather we've been having.
 
Sweet, super stoked haha - assuming they're still open... The forecast says it's going to have above 0 highs for a good part with 5-10mm of rain next Tuesday :(

Such a shitty season - how much longer do you guys think they'll be able to even keep the place open?
 
They hill will not go down without a fight. The snow making crew has laid down a HUGE base, so besides the usual few thing spots we'll still be skiing for a few weeks at least, unless we get a massive rain event

The whole park was in great shape last night and all features still open
 
I love the jumps at edelweiss. Theyre so well made and sculpted.

Edel has the best park in the area, bar none.
 
Was up last night and everything still seems to be holding up well. A few of the rails need to be reset, but jumps are still in great conditions. Should be good for the weekend still.
 
Everything is still holding pretty well with the melt.

Bottom 2 jumps are getting reworked for the comp this weekend. the final big jump is now HUGE!
 
Hmm how much longer do you guys think Edelweiss will last for?? My dad said he'll probably take me down Wednesday or Thursday, but if the place is gonna be closed by then, I wanna try to convince him to take me earlier - think it'll still be open/still have a decent park by then?

Holy crap it looks like they still have some decent snow... Had I seen these pictures earlier I would've probably made my dad take me :(

So I guess it's still pretty good, huh? Think it'll last till the weekend? And how are conditions overall?
 
Sorry for double post, but my dad was just wondering - when were these pics taken? Please answer ASAP man, this basically decides whether or not my season is over yet :P

Season is over. Conditions are going downhill in a BIG way. The runs themselves are pretty well covered still, but bare patches and ice are starting to show through and don't take long to spread. The bottom of the hill is a mud pit now. The park is still running with only a few brown stains.

Sounds like the intention is that night skiing ends saturday, and they will do everything they can to keep runs skiable this weekend. Next easter weekend, staff are on standby if by some miracle conditions improve. All scheduled comps will run until april, but will probably be without lift service.

:( Drove 2 1/2 hours over to Edelweiss today... Only to be told that the park is in rough shape, rails were being taken out, and conditions overall suck... So I left. Such a disappointment... Oh well, guess there's always next season.
 
Not to sound cruel or anything, but this late in the season its always a good idea to call ahead for conditions if you are going to drive that far
 
Why did they suddenly close? From what i saw over march break, they definitely had enough snow for this weekend, at least!
