The 2009 Edelweiss Thread

The other "edelweiss" thread is from last year so fuck it.

Me and 3 buddies (3 skiers one boarder) have our seasons passes we'll be there every saturday and hopefully during the week once they have a park up.

To anyone that goes saturday, or anytime after that, please UPDATE us with the park set-up.

they only have a small set up right now, like 2 rails and 1 kicker but when i left they were making a bigger jump so im guessing this week will be better

All they have is a piece of 6" green PVC pipe lying on the snow, and a small kicker someone carved out of one of the snow piles. For $30 it's not really worth it unless you have a seasons pass...

I am up there patrolling every tues and thrus night, I'll try to keep you guys posted on setups but give them a few weeks to get much going

Say hi...I usually have a ton of NS stickers on me to hand out

I'll hopefully be heading up really soon, i just have a problem getting rides and such.

If anyone goes up while i happen to be there im relatively short, stickered up helmet, electric blue pants and red jacket riding 171 08 invaders.

Still mainly a rail garden but you have 8 rails/boxes set up pretty well, and the tire bonk. There is a large pile of snow sitting up on yoddler to be turned into a table pretty soon. as well the massive DFD just got a new coat of paint, and 2 HUGE butter boxes were done up about a week ago, so they are just waiting to go into the park once there is a bit more space to work with

I dont think snow will be much of an issue

(wakefield forecast)

they changed stuff around in the park, got a nice street style box, a little down bar, 2 small flat boxs, 1 small down box and a long down barrrrrr

Was there on saturday. They had a c box, street style down box, a small single barrel down rail, two flat boxes, a down box, and a big street style down bar. It also looks like their building a jump.

yet again my plans get ruined and i could not make it out FUCK, i never can get rides its such horseshit.

And whatt this street box people are talkin about, also how sick was the snow

the street box was at the top of the park right next to the c rail. the snow was amazing. I got a couple runs of freshies on the left side of zoomer. and when that was skied out i started skiing the run where the park usually is which had better snow and no ice underneath.

no like what is a street box, im not familiar with this term ahah. And sick was there alot of fresh?

its like a box but flat on the snow, and rly wide, not long but wide =P , i have my pass there, i like a c box but i cant do it every time., i got my lip slide 270 out on the first rail just the other day

IMPORTANT

they go tthe pay park up

some sick rails, a coupel nice boxes (and a super fun up/down butter box)

\and a HUHE MOTHERFUCKIN JUMP

fuck

my

life

Top Park (Pay Park)

1. Butter Box FD and Tree/Pole Jib

2. Flat bar with good 7 food drop after

3. 10 foot jump followed by 25-30ish footer mayb.

4. On the side of the jump line is an urban style down box and a down flat box.. i think

Bottom Park

1. Butter box and C-box

2. Mini down rail and box step on style.

3. Down bar and flat box with little lip.

4. Pvc Pipe with nice big lip.

Pro Park up, didn't have my pass so i couldn't go in :(, Who was the guy there today, the big white NS sticker on his skis and in the flannel?

Was up there last night and things are looking good. Couple small jumps. one Massive booter and a good selection of rails and jibs. There is still a bunch more stuff coming in.

Back on my reg tues/thurs night shifts, see you guys up there

Any idea if their park will still be good after all this rain? I have exam week next week and was hoping to go somewhere after I was done my exams, but not sure if I still wanna go anywhere if the park is shit...

i cant remember if i say any of you guys but i was there from 12-5 and i had a red jacket, aqua/ baby blue pants, striped poles and 08 invaders

i also pulled my first frontie on the second jump in hte pay park ( yes i know im claiming but im just happy ahah)

also is that suposed to be a step up, or is it just odly shaped?

thought so, thats why i was kind of sketched on doing a front, i didnt think i would get my tails around, pretty fun jump

I was up last night and the boys are hard at work blowing and pushing snow. I would expect by the weekend to see at least 2 more larger jump features in the big park, and we'll see the lower rail garden moving up to the top of the quad.

did my frist 7 in the pro park this week-end then i got super pumped so i thried i front but i forgot to bend my knees all the way throught so i landed right on my ass, any one who works there know when the rest will be open?

By this weekend expect to see 2 more large booters and what will likely be a hip (but is just a huge pile of snow they aren't 100% sure what to do with)

^ tell them to make something sick lol

I really enjoyed when they had that gap to up/cannon box a couple years ago. That was reallly fun and i would love if they did that again

How jumps in total?

and more importantly how are they?

Also what jibs do they have in the bottom portion of the pay park?

Yea the bottom park is open.

the top has:

the up down wide box on the right and pvc 15ftish slight down rail

after the rail there is a small jump onto a rail that is across the hill, with tranny behind it.

after that is a fun trash can bonk

small jump after on the right into the step up jump, maybe 15 feet long 5ft step up

down corregated piping set up streetish

then start to the bottom line:

20ft that drops about 5-8ft, with smaller option to the right. the big jump is fun, decent drop

then mellow 15 ft jump

then 25 ft long 8ft high step up on the flat before the big jump

which is about 25-30ft long and drops about 8ft, fun jump, could use a steeper landing i think

then the wall ride on the right and down, flat, long down rail on the left

its a fun park

hope this helps

dis is da jumpers

(2 tiny ass step downs)

1. old step up up top of the hill

2. step down, about 7 feet down 15-20 across

3. step down, 3 feet down, 30 across (sooo smooth long landing)

4. super launcher step up (4 up, 35 across)

5. step down, (7 or 8 down, 30 across)

better jumps that tblant soooo fun to lap, perfect speed, 2 is a tiny bit harsh, but it has another staggered take off

pretty much the best ever

those jumps sound so sick, i really want to go. Wasnt able to all weekend. Fuck this is killing me. All season i have been wanting to hit jumps but i havnt had anyo opprotunys. This jump line sounds exactly what i need.

Hey I got a question... My dad just said he'd take me to Edelweiss for March Break and I was wondering - do I need a day pass AND an evening pass if I want to ski from opening to closing? Also, I'm not very good (My best tricks are only alright 360s off of like 10-15 ft. jumps at the biggest and only natty rail slides) - do you think I would be able to have fun in the Edelweiss park (like will there be enough features for me to hit), or do you think it'd be better if I went somewhere else?

Thanks!
