The 1%

In a lot of the threads I've been looking at lately people are continuously saying how they are so hard down by and saying how all the people who have more than them are rich fags. I've been doing a little searching and the 1% really isn't making as much as I first believed and I would dare to guess the majority of members on this site are actually in the 1% of their respective countries or at least the top 5%. The numbers may not be perfectly accurate and old so if anyone can find the exact numbers please feel free to correct me. Right now the numbers I found are:

America: adjusted gross income of $369,691 or more

Canada: a minimum of $230,000

These numbers are by household and I was really surprised how low they are considering it represents the famous 1%.

So my question is who actually falls under the 1%?

I wish.

Realistically, probably the top 5-10%.

Income vs. inheritance kind of throw it off, because I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who should be in the 1% because of trust funds, but don't have any high true income

I think the whole rich vs. poor thing gets way overplayed. Yes there are a few filthy rich folk(who've usually earned it) and some in abject poverty. But most are somewhere on the scale inbetween, looking for someone to blame as the reason they can't get that 1 extra $.

i am indeed in the 1%. i don't get everything i ask mommy and daddy for though and i've never flaunted anything i have since i hate people who do
