So why is this happening almost every other day now?

It was funny the first time, and when it happened once on a great rare occasion after, but now it happens far too often.

it was funny once or twice, but can easily be taken too far. my favorite was "today is...." but after that i've been unamused and it creates a hassle for those in charge

I find them hilarious. The "smell" one just dominated all of NSG, twas a funny site. But it should only happen when a worthy thread is made, such as the original smell thread and the "How often do you wash" thread. The complete nonsense of them makes it necessary and therefore funneh if you have any sort of sense of humor. I can see how they get annoying though.
