That kid in the pool...

Today I had a pool party for all my soccer teamates and their families durring which I realized something extraodrinary. As I lurked around the pool area bouncing from conversation to conversation I noticed a kid swimming around in the pool. I figured it was just a random family member enjoying the pool. the party went on and i kept my eye on this kid and noticed he never left the pool. I loled a little and brought up the subject with a friend and realized that there is literally always one of these kids at any pool.

Weather its at a family pool party, the local country club, a hotel resort, or anywhere there is a pool, there alwasy seems to be this type of kid. This kid is between the ages of 7-12. Usually a boy. He has a FULL snorkeling kit including flippers. Usually hes wearing a shirt in the pool. The shirt is ALWAYS either white or black and ALWAYS a couple sizes too big. this kid spends the ENTIRE time alone, exploring the depths of the pool. No socializing, just occasionally taking a few seconds to catch his breath by grabbing onto the edge of the pool. And most importantly, this kid never leaves the pool. Not for food, bathroom, not ever. And when its time to leave, his parents literally have to drag him out of the pool.

Anyways, I hope some people have an idea of the kind of kid im talking about or at least the general idea. Post up your thoughts or any stories you have about "that kid in the pool"

i dont know why i find this so funny, maybe its because you went into so much detail describing the kid, but i know what you are talking about

he was searching for pool sharks.

before you even started describing "that kid", I already had the exact same picture in my mind... weird

hahaha this is the definition of the little boy i babysit we will spend hours at the pool and he never gets sick of it

i used to be like that when i was 12, but I would only bring goggles and a bathing suit and check out high school and college girls underwater, they never caught on

yaaa. i didnt realize the kid was in full gear, which is pretty funny. but you know thats a legitimate hobby if he turns into a marine biologist. i thought you just meant the kid that spends like 7 hours swimming and i was gonna be like "HEY, that was me!" haha...almost...

that little kid was n=me until i found out that the water was actually cold.

on a hot day i will go in but only if they have a diving board
