'That' cottage on Lake Louise

I was wondering if anyone knew who owns the one single cottage right on the shores of Lake Louise?

I'm talking about the one just in front of the ice hockey clearing, next to the Fairmont.

It's obviously something that's been handed down through generations.

I'd love to hear the story behind it if you know.

Spanks.

which one where?

I used to live in Louise 12 years, parents lived there longer.

I can find out for you

the old swiss guides house? if im not mistaken you're talking about where the Swiss guides from the early 1900's used to hang out and would take people mountaineering from.

Ya, I'm talking about the cabin that's literally right beside the fairmont. On the left if you're looking at the lake. It is certainly NOT owned by fairmont. It's is privately used and own as far as I can tell.

Someone lives there, because every time I've been there, there's been a few cars (incl. a caddy) and ski gear on the deck. No park warden drives a caddy, so I'm wondering what the story and lineage is behind it. If you know, or can find out, let us all know out of interest.

directly to the left? its an old swiss guides house. at the turn of the century Canadian Pacific Railway brought over some famous mountaineering guides from Switzerland to guide tourists on the peaks around Lake Louise.
Now its most likely a wardens office. It may even double as an information centre for hikes in the area but I am not 100% sure. Just go in next time your there worst thing thatll happen is they let you know exactly whats inside.
