TGR fucked a dope rail.

So we was in steamboat chillen at CMC, an TGR is filming a ford commercial or some shit. We stopped to check it our for a bit, it was pretty dope, whatever. They were hittin this long mellow down that there is, maybe 50 feet long, an its one of our personal favorite rails to hit. Now today we're here at CMC an theres locks on the rail, making it impossible to hit unless you got fierce hop skills. So pretty much TGR came and ruined anyone elses prospects fpr hitting it. you would think that a company like TGR would be a bit more official and professional and get permission to hit shit, but thats that... End rant/

Get permission to hit urban rails? Ha good one. But to help you out bolt cutters or metal saw does wonders.

ive never understood the whole putting locks on rails after you hit it thing. for one, we are not gangsters and hitting street rails is not a turf war. secondly, if you are so proud of what you did on the rail, you should be confident enough that no one can one up you and you should just leave it hittable

a film company doing it makes a BIT more sense just cause i can see that they wouldnt want another company having the same rail in their movie, but i mean.. grow up and get professional. it's not your rail so dont block access to it. very juvenile

you might wanna put the bong down..

i very highly doubt that TGR put the locks on the rail.

And to the OP, are you kidding? 95% of the rails that 'professional' production companies hit are done so without permission..

In this situation, I could just be speculating, but I feel like they probably had permission to hit this rail from steamboat.. and if anything, Steamboat is the one that locked the rail up.

you might wanna take your hyper-defensive hat off..

i hardly even mentioned TGR in my post really. the vast majority of what i said was about not understanding why people put locks on rails in general. i'm sorry if you're the kind of idiot that does that and i hit a nerve

i clearly took the OP's word for it about TGR locking up the rail. if that's SO unsettling to you then clear up the record without acting like a dickbag. some of you orange names are so defensive it's hilarious

I like this strategy. ...and if you eat spicy Mexican food the night before, the poo will dissolve said lock in seconds.

No you still don't understand. The OP wasnt saying that TGR put locks on the rail, he was saying that TGR made a big commotion filming a commercial and because of that someone else put locks on the rail, thus ruining it for people who were going to hit it more stealthy. Make sense?

defensive? did you even read the original post?

he didnt state that TGR locked up the rail. He assumed that they hit the rail without permission, got kicked out and then the rail got locked up because of it.

nowhere in my post was i defensive. I just thought it was dumb for you to automatically assume that TGR locked it up.

rule 1 of newschoolers: don't argue with orange names because you will lose. always.

the classic case of pro on newb beatdown.

This is an awesome time to say that Nick Martini is filming urban with TGR and (yes) Sage this year so if TGR "fucked up a dope rail" I'm sure it was the local police that locked it down.
And who gets permission to hit urban rails? Sure, it's a good idea if you're at a rail that can only be hit in the middle of the day but isn't sneaking into the rail late at might, snagging one shot, and bouncing part of the allure?

aaah that makes more sense my b. wish that had been explained earlier.. i assumed that was the case because that's what happens a lot, a crew hits a rail and then locks it up so others cant hit it again.

still though, could've just explained that.. pretty clearly a misunderstanding..

yeaa they mighta fucked up that rail but they also left a dope road gap up at buff pass right before the second gate that we hit.

no no no man, im not saying tgr put locks on it. obviously not. what probably happened is that they hit it and a bunch of people were there drawing a lot of attention to it because they had mad shit set up. so its just a bummer that they could not keep it low key because now CMC locked it.

and yo, not talking any kinda shit about martini, sage, or even tgr as a whole. im just bummed that one of my favorite rails is locked up now just because tgr decided to hit it.

to the two people who were arguin you guys are fucking idiots. No one ever said TGR locked the rail, the thread creator is just saying that it got locked after TGR hit it and it got locked up afterwards by some sort of authorities

Jonas, I have seen them put locks on the CMC rails in the past (probably about 4 or 5 years ago). Far worse things have happened at that rail then TGR hitting it. One of my buddys put a chain around the concrete post at the bottom and pulled it out with his truck. That didn't get it locked. It is just luck of the draw if you get busted and it gets locked up.
But here's what you do...
Cut the the chain off (bolt cutters, blowtorch, whatever), but don't hit it that night. Wait like two weeks so most of the people forget there ever were chains on it, then go hit it. This solution has worked before and will work again. Also, you can't get in trouble for cutting the chains off if you go back later.

thanks for explaining nicely btw. really don't see what pissed people off so much about my post anyway, most of it wasn't about TGR at all and i didnt just decide out of thin air to blame TGR..

I don't know of anyone putting locks on rails after hitting it to solidify their trick? Let alone a film company doing it. Do you really think level and and pbp put locks on rails so they can't hit the same rail?

I highly doubt TGR put it on, it was probably the owner of the property that the rail is on for liability purposes.

yeah actually ive heard of it/seen it a lot. in fact, i thought it'd be less likely that the owner would do it- i mean, if i had a rail and didnt want someone to hit it, i'd tell them and watch the property, but i wouldn't put a big chain on it

i have heard (from reliable people) of a lot of crews doing it (hell, didn't travis rice literally take a shit on chad's or pyramid after hitting it years ago?), and i think it's absolutely retarded. but no i don't think level 1 and pbp do it, for one because i think someone would have heard of it by now

anyway yeah, that was the misunderstanding. we'll all do our best to move past it

Yo, why didn't you contact TGR about this? If anything, just to raise their awareness of what happened? I'm sure this isn't the first time a rail has been locked up because of a ski company.

then theres a 47% chance that that is BS...

I can't take any credit for it. Got the idea from Myth Busters. They were trying to break out of jail using spicy salsa. The acid breaks down the metal, but I think they also needed a battery or something.

We've got these restaurants in Denver called Chubby's. Their green chili turns your ass into a flame thrower. Could probably melt the locks off, but the rail might vaporize too.

Please tell me you actually talk like your first post.
You belong in kindergarten with your grammar.
Tgr can do whatever they want, they are better than anyone.

no i know that, but usually in my experience shops etc do things like put skatestoppers on it and signs, as opposed to putting a big ugly combo lock and chain on the thing
