Teton Pass for sale

I have been there, never skied it because it was closed for Letterman's wedding when I was there. Its not much now but it has potential. It is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the state I have ever been. The lift only goes partway up the mountain but the lease extends all the way to the top so ski patrol has to do control work all the way up the mountain. The top of the mountain is about 1200 vertical above the lift so there is quite a bit of easy backcountry access up there. The top looked real fun, actually the whole mountain looked like it could be fun on a pow day.

Here is a thread I made last year about it

Here are some shots of their mountain

Its sad to see another small ski area close, I really hope someone buys this.

So apparently Teton Pass has sold and will re-open this winter. The new owners are increasing the skiable terrain with surface lifts and adding a terrain park. They are also advertising the season will last from Thanksgiving through April 15. Interesting with the old ownership they had trouble holding snow through March. Im stoked to see where this goes because there is some pretty sweet terrain up in that area.

Updated website http://tetonpassresort.com/

Were you up in Glacier yesterday? I was trying to find a parking spot on top of Logan Pass and saw a car with a top box that had a ton of NS and ON3P stickers on it.

Was it an Intrepid? I think David may have been up there. I've been in Portland for about 5 weeks. I wish I was on Logan Pass. How's the snow?

I think it might have been. It was really random but cool to see it. The snow was pretty low, although I don't have much to compare it too because the only other times I've been to Glacier were earlier in the summer.

The latest I've skied Logan Pass was around the end of July. Thats sweet that its still holding up. I was at Many Glacier in mid June and the snow level was still super low.

i have skied there before. you could rent straight skis for 5 bucks a day. or if you wanted to dish out ten you could gets some shaped ones. and there was much camo/sunglasses/ and carhartts everywhere you looked

i dont think im getting a season pass this year for showdown. but that means i can go other places without feeling like im wasting money. im stoked to try out teton pass. they only big probem there is the wind i hear. i went there once and there disel lift was broke down, so i didnt get to ski.

If they extend the lift and add a park im deffinitly going there a few times this year.

Damn makes me want to buy even though i'll only be in mt a few times over the next few winters... it could still be worth it especially if they were expanding.

they arnt doing one for that cheap.. but they are doing like 4-5 year passes for a pretty good deal..

“I would compare this to Squaw Valley for terrain and skiability, although it’s not as big.” what?

I am stoked that it got purchased, the area seems to have a lot of potential and it sounds like this guy has the money to make it happen. $270,000 for a ski area? What a steal! I am pumped to see what happens to that place. One thing I know that the old owners always had trouble with was lack of snow (east downslope of the Rockies) and tons of wind so hopefully these guys can find a way to manage the snow or possibly add snowmaking for the park.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I'm still really skeptical that it will get much business though, with Choteau as the closest town. That's rough

Ya and the website is a little misleading... all the distances are relative to Choteau and not to the ski area. For example on the front page of the website it says "The nearest airport in Great Falls is just 45 minutes drive" Ya, 45 minutes to Choteau if the roads are good then another 30-45 to the mountain. Plus this "ith oh so rare continuous vertical" They barely have 1000 feet of lift served. From what I could tell all the good stuff was hike to above the lift access. I really hope it works out though, it could turn into a sick thing.

sounds like a good time, sadly no big mountain pass for me so i am looking for cheaper options. This looks like one of them, plus choteau is hands down my favorite small town in montana next to marion of course. Hopefully all goes well for the resort.
