funny how no one really knows what terrorism is
it's a preemptive attack on people who you fear are going to harm you -- a method of scaring people away, like pulling a gun on a suspected robber before they commit the crime. and im sure many of you (would) do that kind of thing, or have weapons for "protection". youre really just a terrorist yourself, but on a very small scale.

Its the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear

1. 9/112. Death 3. Strong beliefs4. Anywhere, but more commonly found in 3rd world nations.5. The 2nd tower falling.(its makes me cry thinking about it)

1. London 7/7 - the bus that was blown up was one block away from my girlfriend's house, and it was the bus she catches to uni, which really freaked me out

2. Life imprisonment if, by due process, an individual is found to be implicated in the planning or execution of a terrorist attack.

3. Coercion - ideological zealots often feed skewed interpretations of ideology to the vulnerable - the majority of terrorists are radicalised just prior to committing any sort of attack.

4. Nowhere specific. I don't think location is a dependent variable. As long as there is conflict, and the perception of oppression, radicals will radicalise people in their own countries. The ease of travel now means that terrorists can be 'trained' in one place, and commit an atrocity on the other side of the world.

5. General devastation of infrastructure.

1. columbine, 9/11, AZ killing,
2. most of them go suicidal but if they dont, i want them imprisoned if its a small crime. but if they organized 9/11 or something like that, i want them tortured till death
3. believing that it will get some good outcome. such as if the religion they believe in says they will be a great person in the after life, that makes you want to do it, because you have been raised on that. or some people do it to get the government of a country such as USA to become stronger on protection against terrorism. most dont want to do that. but some do.
4. anywhere and everywhere. everyone is a terrorist on a small scale, if you break the law, you just became a terrorist in a very small scale.
5. dark skinned Muslims, racist i know, but thats the day and age that everyone that is Muslim is associated with being a bomber. i have a Muslim friend and everyone who knows him is like "when you going on your suicide bombing mission?"

Are you fucking kidding me?

Also Btw Columbine was not an act of terrorism... There was no political motivation

Terrorism is not something that results in terrifying people...

It is a the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against

civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or

ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or

instilling fear

1) September 11th, and the London bombings
2) Life in prison/ execution.
3) A lot of things, there is no simple answer and I think that "terrorists" do not simply commit an act of terror for one reason. It seems like a desperate action for a group that is in a minority and trying to gain power over others, or an oppressed group of people who lash out violently after years of abuse by a government of another group of people.
4) Terrorists can come from any where. The ideology does not originate from a specific country.
5) War, death, violence, destruction, hate, cowardliness, bombs, guns, fire, explosion, fear, and confusion.

no its not your opinion because terrorism has an actual definition as to what can be called terrorist acts or not and the columbine shooting was not an act of terrorism.

terrorism is the act of terrorizing, for political reasons or personal reasons. you are right though, in that a school shooting really isn't meant to instill fear, it's just some fucking lunatic wanting to do some damage before he off's himself, but people just need to understand that there exists varying degrees of terrorism. being a bully at school, threatening smaller kids and making them feel like they're afraid to be in the hallways because their lunch money is gonna get jacked is an act of terrorism..
either way, terrorism is a cowardly method of warfare. effective, but still cowardly. like dropping bombs on cities; i.e, scaring the nation into conceding, fearful that it will happen again if they dont. cowardly, but effective. sound familiar?

cowardly, says the man who has never seen battle.

"Terrorism" is constantly changing. You could apply the word to so many different situations. Was it terrorism when marines burned out pillboxes with napalm? Yes. Was it terrorism when japan attacked pearl harbor? Yes. Was it terrorism when Regan bombed Gaddafi? Yes. It's a loose fucking word.

Its definition only changes with political application not with meaning.

No, napalming other soldiers out of bunkers is not terrorism. Its brutal warfare. (no targeting of civilians, no direct political ramifications)

No, Japanese attacking our Pacific fleet (military target) was not terrorism, they were trying to destroy our military fleet...

No, it was not terrorism when America bombed Gaddafi. We targeted all military installations (barracks, airfields and air defense systems)

Its not a loose term. you're just being political with its definition

this answer is 100% true

last week my friend who was born in serbia, then yugoslavia, and then moved here with his mom went to visit his dad. The first night he got there he was really jet-lagged so he went right to sleep. He woke up at 5 and his dad told him that if he delivered a duffel bag to a bus driver and not look inside it he would give my friend 300 dollars. He did it and said it was a heavy bag but he didnt open it. Tell me, friends, what was in that bag?

sparknotes: my friends dad is either a terrorist or drug lord
