Tell me what you Honestly think

As some of you might know, I shoot and edit videoclips with FirstClass productions.

I usualy shoot and edit 100% of the content but this time I had to go skiing in oregon after the shoot. The artist wanted the video quickly so my producer decided to edit it. I did not want to post this video but he and the artist liked the final product.

So please NS tell me what you honestly think about this video.

If its negative, dont be mean, he will read this!

-"Seemed very" and you've got my critique.

There wasn't any grading or color correction either. It might have been intentional, but it didn't seem that way.

They may like it, but odds are they simply don't know any better. The footage was pretty good, a lot more could have been done with it.

I liked the fooy, but it was way overedited. To much filmburn, change of easpect ratio, split-screen, random colors etc

But the filming/ footy was nice

I dismissed it as soon as I saw the first title. Other things that made it bad:

-bad lighting/colors

-sporadic filming

-cheesy effects (film burn, tunnel vision, bad tv)

-pointless cutting to the beat

Thats all I saw within the first 10 seconds I lasted. Pretty much every single aspect of that video screams "amateur." Sorry not trying to be mean, but I honestly don't know how to make it sound sweety.

dont be sorry, as I said I didnt have much to do with this project exept the filming. I am responsible only for the 7D shots. color and all (in this case) was not my decision. Its feedback like this that Im actualy looking for.

don't' even really need to comment after some of these respected filmers have already noted most things. The cheesy effects and titles really killed it for me. I love all the other music videos you made and can tell this wasn't one of your products. keep doing your thing

the filming/camera motion were good, but the scenes were poorly lighted.

your others are definitely better, mainly because they were filmed outside for most part.

keep doing your thing, and tell your producer to quit editing haha

Huh? Lighting a scene correctly before capture can never be matched by any amount of CC. Compressing digital data simply cannot match genuine light. Relying on CC for good color/tone is just idiotic in the first place.

He said changed not fixed. Im sure the demographic that is watching the final product will not catch the little noise or glitching anyways.

I know...you can't change lighting in post. You can compress the image of crappy light you've captured, and it WILL show.

You are probably talking about the yellow tint in the studio. Well the room was filled with yellow foam and the only lights i had access to would still make my white balance too yellow for my liking. Thats where and why color correction exists.i know how to use my vectorscopes and histograms to spot banding dont worry.

No, I'm referring to the lighting; not white balance. You know, illumination? Fill light, back light, hard light, soft life, etc.

You're filming for boy6lue ??

With the shitty videos that they play on musiqueplus, this could almost get to my tv screen.

And honestly, I think I could have done a better professionnal job 4 years ago with windows moviemaker... Eheath pretty much says it all. (and I'm not being mean mat cause I know you didnt edit it )

Ok yah as i said i didnt have access to the best lighting. I only had 2 led lights.

and yes our car was at hood, how do you know it was us

Just a guess because that sticker stood out to me as massive. I figured whoever had it would have been part of ns and you were an intern, right?
