Look at the Halos like you said, though they do not have (as fast?) of a base as the Alpha1s. You could also try looking at the Alpha 1s, but they might be a little stiffer then what you're looking for especially depending on your weight.
Check out the Moment Vices or if you can find some the older Moment Rockers. The rockers are very soft and the Vices are just a stiffer version but should still be fairly buttery.
Domains are flat underfoot and FRs are said to be a tad stiffer. Recoils, 2012s, moment vices, halos, 12/13 chronics if you can go 92 in the waist, or k2 sights would all fit the bill
Well there you have it. And I can say they aren't soft, but aren't stiff. If you want to butter, the rocker will help. I haven't skied them, there's just a pair in my living room
i was liking the ON3P's too. it' just the cost, probably worth it though. I like tail rocker as well. I really like JJ's so i figured i might like halos. Domains i've always been considering in which case i might just say to hell with camber and a sintered base (which means halos are in again). But i hate going slow in general. and i don't know if it's my base structure or the fact that i have an extruded one, but last time i as skiing it was horrendous.
I think they made this years Domains with camber. Or go for next years Rocky Mountain Underground Wiscos. Great skis for Midwest conditions which it sounds like what you're dealing with.
Halos have a sintered base, it's just not the comp race base. Honestly, just go with the filthy riches. The on3p guys really know what they're doing, and the build quality is amazing. I'll definitely be picking up a pair for next season.
lower east coast. if thats the cae with the halos then i'll probably just get those, or get this years when they're cheaper. unless i can come up with some more cash this summer in which case i'll check out the FR's.
