So imma just post a bunch of videos of me and my friends and help us with what we’re doing wrong. I’ll give like a little explanation on what I think and stuff then just tell me what else. Everyone is welcome to put in there videos

So this one I did second try just made a flat drop packed the drop and did it second try, my other friends did it like 3 or 4 tries in. I feel really good about this one. The one thing is I felt like I spun the first 180 really fast and then the second half was much slower cuz my hands get caught behind me. This one wasn’t as bad as the others but lmk.

First time he landed in a flat drop 3

My brother he struggles. He used to only 180 and wants to do 3’s. But he literally just stops rotating. I think he may spin the wrong way or have muscle memory and not keep looking and bad form etc help him

Just reply and give some tips.

Some other things, I’ve can ski switch and land switch ok. But when I do I like have been trying different heights when looking back and I just don’t know if I am not looking back hard enough cuz I struggle to see. And like car hung is hard and looking the other way. It’s just kinda a mess. So any tips

last is I weight 160 and I ride like a 98 wide ski, and so powder is what I love and doing trees in powder it is hard to turn. I can find the sweet spot where I don’t land to far forward and then like just land and shoot forward and to far back where I don’t back slap. Those are all I can think of know. Please help

For the rails, try looking at the end of the rail. For the spins, just keep looking over your shoulder.

as far as the rails go, everyone is leaning over to the left. The guy with the black/red jacket came at a super harsh angle and left the rail super quickly. Try mountain the rail a bit closer to it and at less of an angle, its' balance from there.

Your 360s are pretty solid, you just need to practice them. On the other side of the spectrum, your brother. He winds up the wrong way so his entire upper body is counteracting the spin which is why he cant get past 180.

Hope this helps. I've only been freestyling for 2 years, and that's what I can catch.

I’ll let my brother know, he kept getting super mad cuz we weren’t helping him but we didn’t know how lol so this helps. That makes sense on the rails

You’re approaching the rail at an angle and are sliding over the top. Try to be parallel to the rail aka right next to it then just move your legs 90 degrees and onto the rail.

for the spins the biggest thing i can recommend is using a pop, and spin with your chest technique as opposed to winding up and bucking your body. Get a really solid pop straight up without winding up like crazy and spin with your chest. Open your arms wide in a T pose. Getting a solid pop and air awareness using your chest and spotting with a T pose spin will help your technique 100000x no matter how dumb it may look at first

Simple rail we hiked for like an hour.

Try landing on the rail both feet at the same time and then use your front foot to scissor or press onto the rail to lock on. Watch for this specifically in videos of good rail skiers, you’ll see what I mean.

You’re already falling off the back side of the rail before your front foot lands. No chance to lock.

Also, slightly less angle on the approach might help. Speed is generally good but on a feature that short, feel free to slow it down to focus on locking on.

Yeah, someone already said this but he is winding the wrong way. Upper body is already twisted to the right before takeoff so he can’t create any torque. That’s the first thing to fix.

Some other tips…he should focus on setting with the lower body. Since he spins right, he should be pushing off his left inside edge on the set. Keep looking over the shoulder. Literally lock the chin to the right shoulder the whole time. Goodluck.

This really helps thank you, I’ll let him know

This also helps so I’ll look it up

I need some help. So I always land really far forward when hitting cliffs and eject. I did the same on both of these hits where I like popped forward maybe and then landed to far forward. Idk what I’m doing wrong cuz if I don’t go forward I sometimes backslap and it catches my arms and I go forward and my arms go back and it hurts so much.

imma reply with the videos. I’ll put one of

my flat drop 3’s I landed and then the two I crashed on

in your profile it says you can do rodeos and misty 5s, do you have a video of one of those, not doubting you, just a little skeptical after seeing some of the threes (might have been one of your friends)

Might be wrong but I think I remember him saying he can do those on tramp

I can do them very consistently on tramp. And will take them to snow hopefully soon but the snow and traffic has been terrible. So idk when that will be. But regardless why does that matter rn? And wdym one of my friends and what makes you skeptical. I can do bigger tricks way better than I can spin so just these 3’s don’t show much.

The way you were falling on 3s off of like 5 foot drops makes me skeptical of you doing flips. Also what does "I can do bigger tricks way better than I can spin" mean.

The reason I was falling as i got help was I was popping to far forward and then landed forward instead but instead it doesn’t need to be more centered idk if that makes sense. Like pop up instead of up and forward. A backflip is a lot easier than a 3. That a bigger trick. I would also say rodeos are easier less wind up and all that. It could just be me and what I do more. But still why does it matter what I put in my best tricks. Why is that such a big deal

not big deal, but backflips easer than 3s? i can three flat idk one person that can backflip flat i can 900 off of park jumps under 20 feet long , backflips are kinda hard on those jumps as you have to huck as hard as possible

Ok, I mean flat backy is hard. But personally I have way more control in a cork, rodeo, backy etc. but also in a backy it’s just pooping and setting your hips and look back to spot your landing, all easy steps. In a 3 I feel like the pop wind up spin is a little obnoxious and more technical. If that makes sense but that’s just me.

your right it’s not a big deal. I just am not the best normal axis spinner. That 3 sucked and in my 3’s in general big air ones I have very little control. I like to just hit small jumps and spin fast. Idk what it is with me but bigger tricks r just easier
