Tell me...were my actions wrong?

So a couple days ago, I went to go get my skis P-texed at my local ski mountain I work at. I work in the "kitchen" part though so only a couple of my friends work in the ski section, one who is new, and one who does my skis for free. I tell them I want my skis p-texed and de-tuned. I come back the next day, no one I knew worked that day, they handed me my skis I left. The P-tex was done, the edges weren't, but I knew they were dull enough for rails that weekend that there wouldn't be a problem. So today I went back, they proceeded to tell me my skis were not finished and to hand them over. Since they had lost my form they told me to "fill out a new one." I did, then another employee there tells me it would be 50 dollars. I told them I'll pay when they're finished, partly because I knew I would be getting them for free. Another employee tells me "how was no wax treating you." I said I didn't have time to wax that week, and they were going to get trashed on rails anyway. Another employee says, "we'll have to do a full tune since your edges were dull." I proceeded to say I did not want them sharpened, and if that was the procedure...then to please detune them/basegrind them. He says that will be another 20 dollars. I couldn't find my friend so I said, "look, I'm not looking to pay that much please just give me them back." The other says "we've already started on them, and YOU already signed the form." Another one says, "You should have your edges sharpened, because rails will dull your skis out more." I say, "sharpened skis and rails do not mix, just give me back my skis." I grab them myself, I could clearly see they hadn't started working on them. As i'm walking out, I see my friend, (his shift had just started) he said "it would be no problem" and to disregard what they said.

Haha all I was thinking when I left was they must only be working with race skis, and I clearly wouldn't be taking them back. What would you have done?

so you wanted them to detune your edges, but they wanted to sharpen your edges. You take your skis back and say 'thanks, but no thanks'. Why would you think you took the wrong actions in that situation?

Be glad you did that, they sound like idiots and obviously didn't know what's up; I hate it when people think you have to have your edges sharpened.

I probably would have been too pussy for such manly actions.

For some reason this feels like Micheal Douglas in falling down.

You must of been like sir I just want my skis de-tuned. Sorry sir we dont de-tune skis but we will sharpen them for you.

hahaha this is really good +K,I mean I really didn't get what the problem was, expecially since it was MLK day there were thousands of people, and the employees were just adding to the conversation instead of wanting me out of there

Next time use this for detuning and avoid idiot shop monkeys:

I made a video a few years back on this that I posted in gear talk, but video isn't working right now. Still, it's pretty simple. Detune with sponge. If your edges are still burred, repeat process with sponge.
