So just accepted a summer job on Flathead national Forest.

Gonna be trying my best to look for some housing to rent this season but rumor is there is tons of places to be a dirtbag and van it.

Can anyone confirm this or deny this??

And if you got any information of the area, I'll take it.

Duty station is gonna be Hungry Horse and looking at Cloumbia Falls for a place to live.

Thanks for any information.

I was raised in the Flathead, and let me tell you- it's an incredible place in the summertime. I can't say much for the housing besides the fact that Columbia Falls will probably be much cheaper than anywhere else as of right now, since the valley is growing insanely fast. I'd imagine there are plenty of places to dirtbag it and live out of your van if you poke around a bit too.

Whitefish is a fun area for tourists and that scene (and for good reason, definitely check out the mountain while you're there). Kalispell has more resources for shopping, chain franchises etc. Columbia Falls is the gateway to Glacier National Park, and that is an incredible place. If you've never been there, it's a must-see. Loads of gorgeous hiking and you can even ski up on Logan Pass in the early season if you're up for it. Gets very packed with tourists though. There are lots of other beautiful places to go for outdoor stuff without the tourists, since there are numerous mountain ranges/lakes/rivers/national forests within an hour or so drive in pretty much any direction you choose to go.

All in all I think you'll like it up there.

Ive been in the area twice. Once on a spring break ski trip long ago. The other was on a fire assignment in 2017.

Both times were awesome so looking forward to more good times.

Dankest meth in the 406

Looking at news articles lots of news 2016- late 18s. Is the meth problem rampaging and car window being smashed every night for cash or is it more so petering out?

Usally meth epidemics have 3-5 year cycle due to the fact the user groups die or get clean.

Or is it still going strong?

Just bought a Whitefish pass.

Looking at maybe buying a Teton pass ski area pass.

Anyone a regular there that can vouch for its worth?

Teton Pass just reopened last year (maybe the year before) if I remember correctly. You can tour up it so that's fun, or at least you used to be able to. Still pretty sure you can to the peak?
