Telelmark Boots & Bindings

Does anyone have advice on what Tele boots and bindings to get, or have used tele gear they'd sell? Not looking for anything fancy.

I've done a bit of tele skiing over the years on borrowed gear and really enjoy it, but not looking to abandon alpine skiing for tele.

I ski anywhere from 80-120 days a season, and would like a tele setup to use occasionally, and maybe lend to other people to try sometimes.

I would probably use Head Kores for the skis, because I can get them cheap and feel they'd be fairly versatile. I'd be using the teles for mostly resort skiing with light park use and some backcountry.

I'm 183 cm tall, (6') ~ 95 Kg (210 lbs) and wear a 28.5 ski boot.

I dont personally tele but I know some people who do. Im looking to get some tele stuff for next season. My friends both ride 22 designs vice binding. They are pretty cheap and functional. For boots just get whatever fits best. The vice binding is a 75mm binding so you need a 75mm boot. There are some other ones out there namely ntn which can have pins for better uphill but its entirely up to you. NTN is the new standard so if you want more modern gear thats probably the route to go. I will most likely get NTN with pins and get the voile tts but it is 100 dollars cheaper.

Tele is actually blowing back up, with the advent of NTN bindings. Cable bindings/boots are cheaper, and easy to find used, but are much more sloppy. It's fun on mellow terrain, but gets sketchy on anything interesting. NTN stuff has much better feel, and is much stiffer, vertically and laterally. I suggest picking up a good NTN setup (Scarpa TX Comp/Pro and some 22 Designs Outlaws is my fav boot/binding combo). There's a group on fb that has tons of good stuff, but it's mostly down in the US. I don't know anyone in Canada who carries/ships much tele stuff, I had to order my boots from Utah and got fucked by border fees. I know one of the shops out here at Sun Peaks just started carrying a bunch of Scarpa tele stuff, but I'm not sure if they'll ship.

old style bindings vs ntn is like skiiing with a binding loose on the ski, or wiggleing out in the binding

Like he says, ntn and such is a gamechanger, you can finally have some power transfer

a girl locally here is crushing gates with ntn setup on actual racetiger GS ski, its very wtf to watch but she rips! fun view from lift
