Tee gun modification

I was thinking about a way to increase my snow production. I want to do something that is easier and less expensive than building a combo gun. I was thinking that the following design would allow nearly twice as much water to flow through the gun using only 1 water source. I do not believe that this would decrease the pressure either...

The idea is good but what you need in place of that secound pipecap is a 4002 or 4001 nozzle from mcmaster.com you will all so need to have that secound mister the 4002 above the the gun with the pipe cap were in thise case would be the nuc. nozzle. Kyle I will send your brother a picture of this same basic idea you had that some one has already done.

thanks for the e-mail..so why is the 4002 nozzle better than a regular pipe cap and would i be able to have the second mister undereneath the first if i were to put a joint on the end so it would be mixed with the output from the top mister? thanks

I have sent your brother (Jason) Two pictures of a tee gun with an extera 4002 nozzle running above it...

Look at the photos with him and you will see what you have to do. I will also be sending him a diagram that I have just finish drawing on paint of exactly what parts you need and where they go...

Ya, in that diagram it looks like the air would only come out of the top place, wahtever you call it. And the palce below it, would just be pure water. Jason, post pics.

No, it is more likely that a poor quality mist would come out of both of the pipe caps and not wark much better then it is now...

I have email jason some pictures of a snow gun alot like the one of the plans posted. He might post the pictures of what he builds...

Do you think that this Idea is a dead end or should I continue to look into it... Im thinking about just scraping the idea and building a tee gun

All you have to do is set up you tee gun running it with the pipe cap with the two 1/16 inch holes drilled in is then get out your pressure washer and hook it up set the spray wand on the flat fan mist setting and spray the mist into the mist from the tee gun..

This = LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF SNOW!!!!!!!!!! SNOW!!!!!!!!!! SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

 
so, basically, we cuold just stand there and spray our pressure washer mist into the tee gun mist and we'd be good. we dont leave it running long periods of time without one of us there anyways.. im going to try that thrusday

What about if the second nozzle was put on the top. So instead of a tee get a 4 way and have another nozzle up there. Would that work any better? Or would that just be the same result, bad quality mist. Also you could solve the water problem if you want to make a combo gun with that modification. Split the water line after the check valve and plug the pipe above the mcmaster nozzle. Then run another pipe up into the air line. That would make a combo gun that hooks up just like a tee gun but still makes a good snow output. Then again maybe it would just be better spent money to build a Hago external mix gun. On Monday I build a combo gun with my pressure washer wand tied on top of a ladder with the tee gun under it misting up into the spray. I didnt have good results. It either wasnt cold enough or wasnt set up right. It also was using so much water that the tee gun was pulsing and was not shooting out an even mist. It would go from a good mist to one with too much water and back. I was also having trouble with the hose wanting to freeze when setting it up.

 
I will email Jason some plans for a internal mix combo gun that all runs off the pressure washer and he might post it here...

The best snow gun I have ever built was a Sue15b external mix snow gun works very easy... It is basicaly the backyard blizzard because it uses the same nuc. nozzle (the Sue15b + 1/4j) and two 40 degree upper misters...

The backyard blizzard uses two 4003 nozzles above the Sue15b nuc. I went with the 4002 nozzles they put out a little less water but make better quaility snow.

If you check out my profile there is a picture of my Sue15b external mix snow gun normaly called a byb clone (byb stands for backyard blizzard) Anways the picture shows my byb clone mounted in 1 1/2' PVC

u need a pressure washer for a combo gun? how much do they cost? like one that would work for it

Well it is very nice and works great... But is is very very hard to Build.

The both work about the same really...

The hago nozzle cost $12 while the Sue15b costs about $55.

I just think it is better to spend the cash and buy a Sue15b nuc nozzle.
