Ok im making a ski movie and wanted to put different music in it. SOme rap, rock and techno but i dont know anythigng about techon so does anyone have any good techon songs that would fit with skiing?

yah man, Techno doesn't really fit skiing all that well, ska is pretty phatt though.

no i dont really mean like pure techno that would be just gay, but ive heard of songs that have like techno incorporated or mixed into the background of the songs and was just wondering some of those

RL Burnside, he's on fat possum records. its blues and a lot of huis songs have like scratching in the back, its pretty sweet

 
I think stuff like Jazz and Blues would work great for powder scenes with some of the newer 3rd wave ska bands for the park stuff.

Techno would TOTALLY work with a ski movie, you just have to pick a good track.

If you don't want 'pure techno' cause you're afraid people won't like it, get some really old stuff that is half rock/half techno. Such as really old Prodigy.

The thing is, 'techno' is such a broad term and means so many different things depending on who you talk with. For some people, techno means techno, as in Chemical Brothers, but for some, it could mean house, trance, progressive, lounge, etc.

So I guess my post is kind of useless, but it totally depends on what sort of style you're looking for. Groovy, epicy, loungy, fast, slow, hard, soft, etc.

Yea i like techno but know nothing about it like groups and stuff or even the names of different techno. I have some old prodigy stuff and it sounds like itd look cool in a ski movie. So harvey you know any rock/techno songs or just goo techno songs you would think would work for a jibbing movie?? Thanks it would help alot.

well it all depends on what kind of techno you want

breakbeats:DJ ICEY or DJ BABY ANN

trance/house:George Acosta

drum and bass:DJ Diesel Boy

we always make a video every year too...i know some djs in Jacksonville, FL that are going to lay down tracks for us...but i would say to go with ICEY or BABY ANN...their shit is always the phattest

if u want some mellow chillin techno/hip hop stuff, look for some dj shadow, unkle, handsome boy modelling school, kid koala, kid loco.. if u want specific songs, message me.

 
i think a kid koala track would be tight in a ski movie. and shadow would be good for like huge big mountain stuff.
