Team line bent chetler mounting point

Hi,

i have bent chetler 2012/13, where should i mount the binding? Some people said on "team line" but there is no team line, there is a "factory recommendation" line wich is 3 cm behind the center?

is this to far back because i ski them in pow, on booter, cliffs but also switch pow!?

my first tougths were 2cm behind the center?

thanks!

The team line is usually 2.5 cms back, though I'd have to measure the 12/13s again to double check. Benchetler mounts his there or 2 cms back.

I'm 5'11'' and 175lbs and I rode the first gen ones 2.5 back. No issues. Cliffs, super deep days park, everything. I rode the 12/13's 5 cms back for a few weeks and didn't like them as much. I'd still go 2.5 back.

Pretty sure chet said that he mounted his core center a year back or so. I ride mine 2 back, i would not ride them core center if i were you, unless you intend on riding them like a park ski.

haha, i think now i have it.... could it be that the "team line" on the 183 bent chetlers is 2.5 back? because on the 192 (mine) it is exactly 3 cm behind the center?

Me too! I bought a 2012-13 pair of bent chetlers and there is no team line, there is only a factory recommended line, which seems to be ~5cm back. Chetler himself says 2.5 back, which I assume is from center, so does that mean if I want to follow his recommendation I should mount them 2.5cm in front of the factory recommended line?

To make this weirder, turns out there are 2 topsheets to this ski for this year. I called backcountry.com, and they had a different topsheet on their skis that DOES have a team line. Don't know why my skis are some of the few that only have a factory recommended line. All very confusing...

5cm back does seem too far, though I second guess myself because that's the "standard" line on the skis.

I have to make this decision today so I can have the ski shop drill them for the BC this weekend. Any tips much appreciated!

Now I'm thinking maybe the ski tech said the factory line is actually 10cm back from center. Is that possible?

And extra info if it helps anyone give a rec: I like to charge, ski technical lines, jump off stuff, and plan on learning to bring my switch skiing to powder (thanks for the inspiration, CBC!)

thanks! the only challenge is that there is no "center" line on my pair of bent chetlers. There is only a "factory recommended" line, which is certainly not in the center of the ski, nor is it exactly 2.5 back from true center (as I had hoped would be the case, if atomic was following Chris's recommendation).

So, my question is, where is your center line? is it exactly in the "center" of the ski measuring from tip to tail, or is it in the center of the cambered area of the ski?

"Factory recommendation" is just a relabelled "team" line on the current Atomics.
