Tattoos

For me, I think some tattoo's look cool. But I would never want a girl who is tattooed up. When I'm older I may want to get one saying "You Reap What You Sow" on my forearm, but I'm not sure.

Some back pieces look super dope. Others look stupid.

The Asian theme back pieces look cool.

Stupid looking back pieces.

Understandable. Seeing as you already have like the devilish/gore style going on, it'd make much more sense getting the same theme back piece.

I personally really really like the asian theme tattoo's. But I'd never get one.

To Those that say they wouldn't want a girl who's all tatted up.. Kat Von D is a goddess. Some girls wouldn't look good like that, but she's got the personality and the look.

I love all the Ice Cold Eses in here that think they know everything about tattoos, yet prob will never get one, and if so, will get some retarded tattoo that has 'meaning'.

I have an Traditional American Anchor on my calf, that says Rise or Die trying, and another part of that is SxE because I'm straightedge for life. (No Drinking, Drugs, or Hooking Up).

Have an Appointment for this summer to get both of my thighs done, along with both feet. After that Ill be finishing my shins, and calfs.

And you dont have to have meaning to get a tattoo done. It can be just a cool piece that you appreciate the artists artwork of, and want to get done. Who is to say you have to have meaning within the tattoo? Does every person who buys a picasso find meaning in the picture? I dont believe so.

I mean shit, once I work up to it, Im getting a flower on the inside of my elbow, in blacks and greys simply because I love the complexity and design.

but the thing about buying a picasso is if you decide that you dont like it later on you can sell it or put it in a closet. you arent stuck with it hanging on your front door.

Tattoos, to me, are art. And, to me, art can be just something you like the look of. Personally i hate 'meaningful' tattoos, just get something that looks nice! But i can understand why someone wouldnt take the leap without it meaning something. I have a little anchor on my left wrist...a purple crayon on the outside of my right leg...and this one...422366.jpegI drew it myself. :)

This precisely.

I don't understand why, "I got this because I think it looks cool" is considered a stupid answer to why you got a tattoo. I have one on my wrist, one on my forearm, and a huge one that goes from knee to my ankle and wraps half way around my leg. Sure they mean things to me, but I got them because I think they look cool. Meaning is secondary to just plain old wanting one.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what are you getting on your feet? I've wanted mine done for a while but haven't found the perfect thing for them.

This is Bertha from the Grateful Dead. I grew up listening to them and my dad is in love. The banners say "Robert", "Susan", and "Cameron" who are my parents and my brother. And the roses are colored for our birthstones.

(Picture is from right after it was done seven months ago)

Clouds, with a banner across both that say ' through storms we sail'

Theres a variety of things you can get done on your feet. A lot of symbolism works well, and looks sick. You can get the toes done, and etc.

Im a huge fan of symbolism, so some ancient symbols that relate to your beliefs would be ice cold on your feet.

;) I also have 'Mrs HotAssBeatClap' tattooed on my ass.

The tattooist looked at me weird, i told him he didn't understand internet love, gosh.

sickest ink i've seen in awhile. i am seriously considering getting my first soon, and have a good idea for a relatively novel but also quite aesthetic first piece. I'm on the fence though, tough to pull the trigger for the first time. Anyone got any inspiring stories about their first?

I think you're underestimating the average tatted up person's ability to not give a fuck what you might think about it. After all, if it mattered- they would have asked you instead of the other way around. Usually when dudes ask me what my tats mean, I tell them it's spanish for "I hate nosy cunts".

How about if someone walked up to you in front of your car and asked you what it meant- your car that is. You'd probably look at them like they were retarded... It is equally so with tats. Some people just want them. They don't have to mean anything to anyone, expression is expression and some just see skin and think "blank canvas" and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

also im considering getting this above the back of my hip, about 2.5" long. but ill probably wait a few years and decide then if i still want it.

Make sure you get a tattoo that you really want or that means something to you. You dont want something that scares you on your body forever. P.S. the ribs hurt soooo badly.

I would love your tattooed body for hours, possibly days, you would be like who is louie vitto ( or whatever his name is)

No, I posted it because it's a tattoo thread and that's a tattoo. If anyone had asked what it said I would have told them.

This is my first and only tattoo (for now). I want a new one so bad, but i don't know what to get. And yes, for you who are wondering, I drew that good lookin fella myself.

Ha Ha. Well i posted my tattoo on the first page. I dont care what people say, my eyes swelled up and i had tears in my eyes. Getting a tattoo on the ribs was painful...but atleast i can say tears didnt run down my face.
