Be legit about it if you go ahead with it. Try to get an apprenticeship at a place, because you can really fuck shit up if you dont know what your doing. That being said it would be fuckin badass if you did.

it's a couple hundred dollars for a good set up. if you wanna get one to learn then you should, but it's good to know how it's done first. i think abut buying some all the time. main problem would probably be sterilization, but sometimes some kits come with mini autoclaves, but i don't have any reviews on what's good or not. if you wanna be an artist, find someone to teach you. you should probably be skilled at drawing too. otherwise, if it's for dicking around, which why would it be, then don't waste your monies.

I realize I've got a lot of work to do, training, classes, etc. but I thought it might be a good use of my time. I'm not planning on purchasing a tattoo gun soon, just a thought I guess.

Dude best party investment you can make. I know two kids with tattoo guns, and let me tell you, kids end up with hilarious tattoos the morning after parties.

just make sure you don't give anybody else a tattoo until you are well versed in the art, practice practice practice, you can get pig skin from a local butcher, its really similar to human flesh, and then when you are decent on that start working on your own body, easiest to do thighs and lower legs. If you want a cheap one, get to know the people at your local tattoo shops, if you have a bit of patience, you can get a used gun from an artist who is upgrading or just switching up to a different gun. just make sure to order a ton of needles and never reuse them.

I talked to someone who said they could possibly hook one up, while I was hesitant earlier I'm thinkin I may pick it up. I know I'll need plenty of needles, what else should I plan for?

from hanging out with my one friend while he does work, he seems to buy black ink in bulk, and then just has small containers of other colors. you definitely need some sort of sterilization fluid once you start doing people, but for pig skin you won't need it. and paper towels for keeping shit clean, and transfer paper if you want to transfer drawn or printed designs onto skin
