come on guys, he single handedly pushed our sport from being something that some crazy canadians were doing for fun to the center piece of the winter x games.

from the days of tanner vs pep, he has always been at the center of every discussion, had the best segments, and thrown the craziest runs in competition. we owe it to him to give him a spot at the 2014 olympics.

lol at being given a spot in the olympics-
this isnt some memorial charity event- you have to earn your spot

Was there ever a Pep vs. Tanner? I thought they've been buddies all along/never under comparison.

true, we don't get to decide if he goes to the olymipcs, but we should support him.

and tanner vs pep was like all the threads in ski gabber a while back

i made this post in another thread, but it fits here.

tanner hall is the rocky balboa of skiing.

his interviews may not be the best, but the guy has heart, and it allows him to pretty much do anything. except every once in a while a russian or some guy named apollo knocks him out.

Single Handedly? Absolutely not. Is he incredible? Absolutely, but be realistic. It's not NS's decision, and you don't just get handed spots in the Olympics because he used to win X Games pipe and slope a lot.

No, because if he was the Michael Jordan of freeskiing, it would mean he would attempt to make a comeback and he would pretty much flop. He won't flop.

So does this mean we should have mj on our olympic basketball team?

Tanner deserves the skiing hall of fame though

I honestly don't think Micheal Jordan changed the sport of basketball, he was good as fuck at it but he didn't really help it progess like Tanner did.

Micheal Jordan did change the game. Before him there was nobody like him, now all the top stars, D-wade, Kobe, LeBron try and emulate his game.

Back to the thread point, Tanner did change the game and deserves mad respect. He is still one of my favorite skiers to watch, part of it is because he brings the stock.

just because he was the superstar that was currently playing while they were growing up. Magic was probly the most influential player ever...or kareem.

Anywho, Skiing is absolutely NOT the centerpiece of the Winter X-Games. It is still whatever Shaun White is doing.

really since he said in TGR's interview he hadn't had alcohol since November 2010, and hasn't had any tobacco, and only burns one doobie right before he goes to bed...

he's going to be fucking #prime

Hhahahahahahaah

Post like this are weird and useless, are you laughing at the comment, with the comment, why are you laughing either way? Specify.

Hahahahahahahaha

I can see him possibly making the team, IF he stays off drugs and does not get injured again. If he podiums I would be very surprised.

I'm definetely curious to how far he gets towards his olympic goals though, would be most epic if he made the team and did well.

you don't know much about basketball do you...

ever wonder why basketball shorts are so long?

ever wonder where the fade away came from?

just a couple of minor influences on the game

when t-hall has one of the best performances of his life while he has the flu then maybe we'll talk about this comparaison

Someone please photoshop a Full Tilt boot into Jordan's hands:

tanner is amazing at skiing but its up to him to make a spot in the olympics. Im sure he will make it into the team.

Tanner is the man we want repping Team USA in Russia. He has the experience and the drive to compete on the international stage in Halfpipe skiing. Granted, he has been out of commission for a while but when you listen to him you can hear the passion for skiing in his words. He will rebound from his injury and kill it for sure. Tanner was one of the first, if not THE first, to drop into the pipe switch. His runs are always technically and aesthetically pleasing, and the guy has a mind for the competition setting. He is the MJ of skiing. Most skiers that the current generation look up to were watching Tanner's segments and emulating his steeze on the hill. I'd put my money on T-Hall.
