Tanner has a way better attitude than Simon

Just was watching the JO blog on the superpipe and seeing the different reactions from simon and tanner.Simon was all pissy and like oh yeah well I was gonna give the money to Riley etc like he deserved the win for that reason, and seemed so damn pissed off that he had come 2nd! Tanner was interviewed who was SO stoked on his 3rd and also so stoked on the progression of the sport, it seems Tanner is a real skier, simon is a celebrity and he needs a serious slap. What do you reckon?

i reckon they are both skiers, they both want fame. they just have two very different personality's and two very different backgrounds. I respect both because they have both accomplished alot. Simon progressed amplitude and tanner progressed technicality. They both work on there skiing alll the time.

I'd have to say...

Im on Dumont side its a big comp and if he wants to be competive and is pissed that he lost he has the right to be!

Colby west had more fun than both of them and didn't place.

Having fun > placing and being pissed about it.

i respect both of them so much, but i see simon as the ryan sheckler of skiing.... when i listen to him talk i can just see ryan sheckler

Look.

Every human alive has days when they are not stoked for whatever reason. Tanner may have been an asshole, Simon might have been reclusive and pissed because his good friend was just paralyzed, whatever.

Cut these people some slack. Just because they are pros does not mean that they are exempt from the swings of everyday life. Yes, that does mean that they might not treat you perfectly or come off as childish or stupid, but you don't treat everyone else perfectly either.

Personally, I think Tanner is a better representative of the sport and more appealing to me personally because he can do all aspects of skiing really well, and I have yet to see Dumont do much in the big mtn arena (though his segment on the Austrian booters in Reasons was pretty decent). If you are going to judge these pros, remember that they are people first and have bad days too, and that judging them on things is a personal preference and often not worth creating a new thread about an old fake rivalry propogated to make money for ESPN.

If he skied with him back during like 'Pop Your Bottelz" era, then I would assume he was an Ass, but he has matured a ton since then. I mean, he used to be the sorrest loser ever, when he lost slope, he quit...

the thing your forgetting is that a lot of people talk about tanner and simon from other perspectives than seeing them on tv once a year during X games, hanging out with them at parties is how you know what kind of person they are, instead of what kind of skier they are.... typically i see tanner being very nice to everyone he encounters, and simon being a huge asshole to about half the people he encounters, basically telling them to shut up or fuck off when he doesnt even know them, its pretty weak

Dumont has a more competitive attitude then Tanner, so he comes off like a bigger douche post-comp.

However, Tanner turned the Powder Awards into the "Tanner gets drunk show"...again. That's pretty douchey as well.

Whatever, they're both good skiers...

well with tanners reaction when the french dude won im gonna have to say tanner and him had equal the fun t hall was wiked stolked and at least had a good stitude about it but i didnt see dumont

word at after massive at a bar in Santa Monica, simon was super anti-talk to anyone just walking around while everyone else was having a good time.

as far as i remember after the chad incident he went to pipe because it was easier on his ankles and he stated this in interviews......simon now is the sheckler of skiing
