Now I like Tanner, hes a nice guy..and hes a really good skier but I remember a few years ago when andy Marhre and Pep were rocking no poles and tanner said it was the gayest thing ever.. and that skiing wasnt rollerblading..

and now that Phil And Henrik have made it legit.. Tanner does it to..just to kinda anyways I ski with no poles some times and it makes park riding way more fun and sometimes i even free ride with out poles its fun. But I find it funny that some one can hate on something so hard.. and then totally change the tact because its now the "it" thing to do..

 
a dozen years ago it wasn't cool for people to ski in the park. Now we all do it. Times change and people change. Who the fuck cares if Thall uses poles or doesn't. I surely hope your day isn't ruined because you saw him not using em in a ocuple segments. I mean shit. You said yourself you don't use poles sometimes.
 
Well tanner is also more of a follower these days. I feel like he looks up to phil and henrik then the other way around.
 
Who's to say anyone can't follow whoever they want or use someone else's ideas for freedom to do something fun? Thall doesn't care what OP thinks can OP shouldn't care what anyone else thinks.

this. In my opinion, tanner is making what he perceives to be a major ski comeback by hanging with (but mostly sponsoring) B&E. The reality of the situation is that Tanner Hall is old news. He has never been as good as he thinks he is (so many dudes pushing the sport just as hard if not harder back in the day) and the whole "ski boss" image he is trying to go for now is laughable. He has always been overly opinionated and arrogant when expressing those opinions. Remember when he was a big mountain skiing full on rasta mon? just another one of tanner's phases, and I am pretty tired of it. There is still a place for him in the ski game, but its not where he thinks it is. His seg in education of style was whack, and i can't believe he has been filming with LAFA this season.
 
Not true. I called him out on bigging himself up and calling himself ski boss and loving his own image, and bam, there were the angry PM's from MR CAPSLOCK HIMSELF. He's a shortarse who loves himself. My username used to be powtrumpspark so that's the reason he talks about pow. He's an absolute twat. Also, its fine to change your opinion. He thought skiing without poles was whack and then edollo and b-dog came around to change his and many others perspective on what style is.

Threads like this are just as ridiculous as those gossipy celebrity magazines. Tanner is entitled to do as he chooses. It must get annoying to have an audience on NS always criticizing his own personal decisions. Could you imagine if someone was always posting about your own personal decisions on NS? Man that would suck.

Learn to respect others decisions even if they don't agree with your own opinion or perspective

I just think its funny that people can change their opinions in such a major way and then do something they said they'd never do to follow a trend..this isn't called changing ones opinion .. its called " Selling out" With the definition of selling out being that you do something that you'd always said you wouldn't...in hopes of gaining more fame and or money and attention.

I actually think Tanner is still one of the top 10 skiers on earth.. hes amazing and his real bc ski segment was legit.. his double cork 10s are so sick..I even like his style skiing with no poles..

I think its hilarious that guys are now doing what the IDEA guys did 5 years ago.. and now its cool..

this is why candide will for ever be the best skier on planet earth.. he doesn't follow trends ... he sets them! Poles or no poles tanner is an amazing skier. one of the best of all time all you kids that doubt that are retarded and have no idea what you are talking about. But when you are such an outspoken advocate of certain trends and facets of skiing .. I say you should stick to your guns and " PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH".
 
yeah that sounds completely likely and reasonable of tanner. you totally read exactly what was going on in his head

especially when put up against all the reasonable points people have made about others being free to and tending to change their opinions on certain subjects over the course of time.

bitch kids gunna hate but at the end of the day he's still Tanner Hall and he still helped shape our sport.
 
i dont think tanner ever hated on the idea crew for no pole skiing... infact i think skiing without poles was even more popular back then for a bit until people realized that poles were more convenient.

the whole hating on roller blader thing was about when charles gagnier beat him in xgames slope and one of the main differences in their runs was charles' mediocre backslide? vs tanner's nollie lipslide on the same downbar. haha those were the days.
